TT ROCKSTARS

keep working your way up the leaderboard!

White Rose Hub

Year 3 have been following the white rose scheme of work during our maths lessons. The white rose website are providing amazing, free home learning tasks every week to cover the objectives we would have been covering in school. Every week they are providing 5 new lessons (one for every day of the week) that are easy to follow.  Use this link below to access the correct pages and focus on completing the work underneath the tab. Feel free to complete them in any order that suits you! Good Luck!

NCETM Video Support

To support the White Rose Hub activities below is a link that shares with you videos on how to complete different maths techniques. Simply scroll through the pages and find the area of maths you are looking for then find Lower Key Stage 2.

Creative Writing

Your task this week is to use your purple mash template which you will complete on Tuesday to help you write the final version of your own story. You must include; paragraphs, captial letters, fullstops, expanded noun phrases and apostrophes for possession! Good luck!!

Your task this week to read a story or think of a story you have already read. I want you to change the ending of that story.

For example - Cinderella didn't marry Prince Charming instead she travelled the world finding a new adventure.

(Mine is just an idea - make sure you turn it into a story) Enjoy!

Talk for Writing - The Truth about Trolls

Below is a document which Year 3 can use to learn a new story, which I know they love to do at school. The story is all called 'The Truth about Trolls' and there are lots of activites for them to do along the way. This document is lengthy, but this is because it is designed to take you some time. Don't feel that this all needs to be completed in one session, this will probably last you at least a couple of weeks. Take time to get to know the story, Year 3 will be familiar with using actions and story maps to retell it. They can even make masks or puppets to act the story out. Work through this pack one activity at a time, don't try to rush.

If anyone would like a printed copy of the pack, please get in touch with school and we can print it off and get it delivered to you. Many thanks.

The second installment of Talk for Writing is here just follow the link below. Again please allow some time to complete this do not feel it has to be done all at once. When you click on the link it asks for a donation as a school Crestwood Park has already contributed so please do not worry.

The third installment of Talk for Writing this time a Jungle story.

Music

Reminder: You should have recieved a school life message asking if you could return your cornet back to school by Friday 10th July. This will give the Dudley team time to check and clean all instruments ready for a new cohort of children in September. If you have any issues please contact the school directly. Thank you.

A challenge for all of you who have taken your instruments home. Can you learn to play the popular song Havana? See the youtube clip attached. If you want to send a video or a voice note when you have made progress send to info@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk

Our Local Study

I want you to look at this image and ask some questions about it. Once you have a list of questions see if someone in your family can help answer them, if not can you search the internet to solve some of questions. Remember our study is about the Black Country!

Could you then present this information in a creative way, a letter to a friend explaining that you have just found this image, a factfile for children in the future asif you were from the period in time, a leaflet or poster. The choice is yours!

I look forward to seeing your wonderful work. Send to ajohnson1@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk

I wanted to allow you continue with our local study. The next task was for you to complete some independent research using the internet. Your question is... Why was glass made in Stourbridge? I have attached some good websites as starting points.

Well done to James, Daniel, Joshua and Georgina who clearly worked hard to produce facts about our local area... I look forward to seeing more of your work.
