Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter!

What a busy week we've had....the visit from Santa in his sleigh and the Reindeer Run today have been lovely highlights of our festive events. Earlier in the week we were treated to two amazing performances of 'Christmas with the Aliens'- our Reception and Key Stage One children were truly fantastic and we are incredibly proud of them all.

Our children looked great in their Christmas Jumpers today; thankyou for your donations- contributions to the Mary Stevens Hospice and to Save the Children will be totalled up and we will let you know how much we have raised in next week's newsletter.

With all the events going on this week, we slightly overlooked the fact that today was Foodbank Friday! Some of you were much more organised than we were and have sent in donations- thankyou! We have phoned Black Country Foodbank and asked if we can postpone the collection until next Thursday, so if you'd still like to send something in, please do.

Happy Birthday to you..

We would like to say a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to... Rhys, Zach, Kyron, Mihail, Rosie and Ty who have celebrated their birthday this week, or will be celebrating over the weekend.

Safeguarding Our Children

We are always reminding our children that they have TRUSTED ADULTS in school and at home, who they can talk to if someone is making them feel uncomfortable or upset, or if they are worried about something that is happening to a friend. In school we make a promise to our children that we will-

...help them feel safe

...respect their views

...help them to feel comfortable about talking to us

...respect their views

...be open, honest and trustworthy

...listen to them

...believe them.

We remind children of these messages through assemblies, PSHE lessons, pastoral support and via posters...see if your children can tell you where they might see these posters!

Brilliant Breakfast with Santa!

What great fun we had at Breakfast with Santa! It was lovely to see all of the children together laughing, pulling crackers and enjoying a festive breakfast. Not forgetting, Santa Claus who managed to fit us into his busy schedule and visit our children!

Thank you to everyone who booked this year - these events are vital in raising money for our school fund which helps us cover the costs for treats, travel and extra curricular activities for our children.

A message from the Pastoral Team...

Christmas is creeping upon us quickly, it is such an exciting time of year but we recognise that it can also be a difficult time for some.

We thought we would share some useful websites with you.

We're always here for you and your families please give us or call or email and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Take care of each other xxx

TT Rockstar Champion!

Well done to Rosie in year 3 for a whopping 590 correct answers in just one week!

Can you beat that to be the last Times Tables Champion of 2022?

Christmas Hamper

Mrs Cooper and Mrs Kennedy will be out on the playground before and after school next week with some festive fundraising items for you to partake in!

We have a Christmas Raffle - the main prize being a wonderful Festive Hamper.

Raffle tickets will be £1 a strip.

There will be a Christmas Lucky Dip - children can pay 50p to take a Christmas present form the Lucky box!

We will also be selling our very own Crestwood Park Scarves at £2 each- perfect for the chilly weather!

All proceeds will go into our school fund which enables us to subsidise trips and experiences for your children in school.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Celebrating our Children's work

Every week we would like to celebrate a piece of work which has been created by our children. If you child produces work at home that you would like to share, please send it in to us at info@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk

Christmas Jumper & Reindeer Run Day Snapshots!

Parent Voice

Thank you to all parents who responded to Mrs Kennedy's question about the possibility of recording future productions.

There was an overwhelming positive response and it seems lots of you would love a recording to purchase.

We will therefore investigate our options now of involving a company to produce  professional recordings for us in the future.

Thanks again,

Mrs Kennedy

New Year- New Assembly time!

At Crestwood Park we always make decisions based on what we feel is best for our children.

Our daily assemblies form an important and valuable part of the children’s school day. Our assemblies on Monday to Thursdays are held at 9.00am. To ensure a consistent approach and to keep daily routines predictable for the children, we have decided to trial a new time for our Friday assembly.

Therefore, from January, we are going to be holding all Friday assemblies (ABC/Class) at the new time of 9.00am.

The arrangements for invites to the assembly will remain the same. All parents are invited to attend. If your child is receiving an ABC award at the assembly, you will be notified on the Wednesday of that week.

We look forward to welcoming you all in the new year, at this new time, on a Friday!

Choir visit to Himley Mill Care Home

In preparation for our Choir Visit to Himley Mill Care Home on Dec 14th, we are asking children to draw a Christmas scene that we can turn into Christmas cards, to give to the residents when we visit. Pictures can be any size- we will photocopy them on to card and then ask children in school to write messages inside. You can pass pictures on to Miss Johnson or Mrs Cooper (thank you to the children who have already drawn their Christmas-y pictures!

And finally...

One more week to go for this term - we can't believe how quickly time is going! We are looking forward to seeing everyone back on Monday morning for another busy week.

Keep safe if you're out and about over the weekend, especially with icy roads and footpaths.

Take care everyone.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children our safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
