Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

We made it! Our spring term has come to an end and as always we have had a week filled with some fabulous events. Children started the week as scavengers hunting for egg clues that revealed the answer to a joke. Their efforts earned them all a chocolate egg! This year our eggs have been very kindly provided by our HSA- a big thank you to them all. Polar Bears were able to enjoy more treats on Tuesday as a reward for being this term's winning house team. Thursday saw children rewarded for their achievements and this morning's Easter Service involved our year 6 pupils re-telling the Easter story with the rest of the school accompanying this with some lovely Easter songs. The raffle was drawn and everyone seemed delighted with their prizes. The amount our raffle raised this year is revealed below! As home time arrived, a Sweetie stall was set up on the Key Stage 1 playground and proved a huge success. So it has been a week certainly filled with sweet treats! Keep reading to see what else has happened or will be happening next term...

A message from the Pastoral Team...

We hope you are all looking forward to our Easter break.

A massive congratulations to Thomas in Yr 4 and Ben in Yr 2 for learning the names of 3 flowers and birds.  Well done for learning something new!

We hope you will continue to learn something new over the break and share your knowledge with us when you return, have a safe and happy Easter, can't wait to see you all when we get back.

Love the Pastoral Team xx

Art Competition

Do you love nature? Do you love to draw or paint? Well, why not combine the two! Our wonderful world is now showing signs of spring - daffodils, snowdrops and budding trees. Robins and squirrels busying themselves in the trees.

We would love for you to take a walk and send us a painting or picture of the great outdoors. Something that makes you smile.

There will be a prize for the one that makes us smile the most! Please send your entries down to year 6.

Mrs Brierley and Mrs Akthar can't wait to see your entries.

CLOSING DATE: MONDAY 17TH APRIL.

WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED: FRIDAY 21ST APRIL (in ABC assembly!)

Celebrating our children's work

Year 2 have been reading 'The Elves and the Shoemaker'.

They have written a persuasive advert about visiting a shoe shop. Ashley has most definitely persuaded us to visit 'Super Shoes', has he persuaded you too?

Well Done Ashley, such fantastic writing.

Foodbank Friday

Black Country Foodbank helps vulnerable individuals and families in crisis through the provision of 3 days emergency food supplies while a longer-term solution is developed.

The services we provide have an enormous impact on the people who use them, giving them an important breathing space at a time of great need.

Thank you to everyone who contributed!

5p Fridays - Starting 21st April

After Easter, we are going to begin a class budgeting challenge!

Each class will decide on something that they want to buy. (With a value of up to £20)

Every Friday we will ask for each child to bring in a 5 pence piece. The children will take charge of counting the money and calculating how much more they need to reach their goal.

This will be a fantastic opportunity for each class to know the importance of budgeting, saving and spending!

There is no obligation for you to contribute, but it would be greatly appreciated!

Cash for Schools

Together we managed to collect 391 tokens!

Fingers crossed and a BIG thank you to everyone who collected!

Year 6 - 21 768

A message from your HSA

Kids eat for LESS!

Finally...

All that remains to be said is a huge thankyou for your support this term. I have been blown away with your congratulation messages, cards and gifts- they are all so very much appreciated.

Please all take the time to enjoy the Easter break- enjoy the outdoors, limit your screen time and come back on Monday 17th April rested, refreshed and ready to do it all again!
