Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter!

Our Harvest Assembly today was terrific! Our children sang beautifully and Rosie (Year 5) narrated the Harvest story beautifully. The lyrics for many of the songs contained some really important messages about being thankful, sharing with those who may struggle and the importance of friendship. And we all absolutely adored Reception's 'Bean Harvest' song!

It was really heart-warming to see so many families and friends at the assembly- although it was a bit of a squeeze in the hall, seeing you all there, making the effort to share the assembly with your children was really special moment to look back on fondly, for a long time to come.

The Coffee Morning that followed the assembly was brilliant too- you never let us down with your generosity and we are incredibly proud of what we (The Crestwood Park family) have raised together, today. (See further down for the grand total!)

We'd like to say thankyou to Alan and Graham from the Kinver Rotary Club who came to judge the Bake Off on Thursday. As we've mentioned before, they support us with lots of gifts for the children so it was a pleasure to invite them in to school for this special event. Thankyou to parents and families for taking the time to make such amazing cakes - they certainly were 'fit for a king', and even if you weren't able to bake your own, the donations you brought it all helped to raise today's unbelievable total. Thankyou.

This afternoon, after lunch, we felt entirely different emotions. Mandy ('with the brown hair' as the children refer to her as!) left Crestwood Park after many, many years of being our Cook. Mandy was an incredible asset to us and although the staff in the kitchen are not officially CPPS staff, they are definitely part of the family and so there were many tears as the children sang their own version of 'It's All About You' by McFly and presented cards, flowers and gifts.

Mandy has been the driving force behind many 'food' related events such as The Bake Off, Breakfast with Santa, Summer Fun, the Year 6 SATs breakfast club, not to mention the many Fridays when staff have been treated to bacon sandwiches and the many times she's fed a hungry Headteacher!

We will really miss you Mandy, but we wish you all the best as you put your feet up! Make sure you're back to see us all very soon!

Happy Birthday to you..

We would like to say a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to... Rosie, Ashley and Jenson who have celebrated their birthday this week or will be doing, over the weekend.

It is great to see so many children achieving 100% attendance. However, we do realise that there are absences that are unavoidable. We will in the future, consider the reason for an absence and use our discretion to determine whether it should affect your child being acknowledged as a 100% attendee. For example- a hospital appointment that cannot possibly be altered will not affect your child earning a reward. Thank you for your understanding with this. Whilst we are striving for 100%, we will also endeavour to acknowledge that some absences are unavoidable.

A message from the Pastoral Team...

It has been so lovely chatting with the children this week and listening to their stories about what they get up to out of school.

This week we are reminding ourselves about how important it is to connect with others. Making a connection with other people can make you feel amazing. Connecting with others also makes you feel like you belong and that you are valued. A sense of belonging helps to raise your self esteem.  Here are some ideas to help you get started:

* Speak to someone new in school.
* Chat to someone in your family.
* Make a phone call to a grandparent, aunt or uncle.
* Join a club and chat to people with similar interests.
* Write a letter to someone.
* Leave a little note to cheer someone up.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy connecting with friends and loved ones. Take care of each other, Love The Pastoral Team xxx

Lets hope for an 'out of this world' day!

TT Rockstars

Times Tables Rock Stars is back!....A message from Mr Powell...

Well done to Max in year 4! You are the first maths champion of the new school year.

Max answered 850 questions correctly in just one week.

Looking after our Community

Parking Reminder

Can we please ask that when you are dropping/collecting children to/from school that you are considerate and do not block driveways and are not restricting visibility for pedestrians and vehicles by parking on corners.

And finally...

Thankyou again for today-we really do appreciate your enthusiasm for the events we hold and for your generosity too. Have a good weekend folks and take care.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children our safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
