Welcome to our Newsletter
It has been another week that has ended on a high with our Christmas Market and Science Day both proving a success! It was great to see the ‘bustle’ of the Christmas Market last night and the very, very long queue for Santa- thank you for your patience everyone! Keep reading to see just how much this event raised for our school.
Miss Obertelli arranged the amazing Science Day that took place today in school. The visiting Planetarium was just fantastic and certainly created a feel of awe and wonder, so please ask your children about it.
Infact, the whole school was immersed in all things space related wherever I looked! The activities I witnessed were truly out of this world with: rocket launches, crater crashes and the creation of imaginary planets to name just a few! As always, the adults supporting in school ensured the day ran smoothly- read on to find out who turned out to be a true hero today!
Happy Birthday to you...

Sending Birthday wishes to Evie - May who has celebrated their birthday this week or will be over the weekend.

Science Day - Out of this World!!
Our children had an amazing day in the Planetarium and enjoying science activities all day.
The Rocket launching activity caused quite the excitement as it kept landing on the school roof. Luckily we have our very own Rocket Hero Mr Davies who was able to save the day and retrieve it - more than once. Thank you Mr D for helping out.
Look out for photos in next week's Newsletter!

Competitions!
We are inviting everyone to take part in the annual Rotary Club competitions.
For the Young Writer competition, all children are participating, as they have completed a writing activity during school time.
BUT......
Could you be the Young Artist winner?
Could you be the Young Photographer winner?
Take a look below to find out what you need to do!

Mrs Cadman's English News.
Writing Journals
The Reading Ambassadors chose a winning front cover design from each class this week.
It was so fantastic to see the effort that had gone in to decorating front covers and what was even more fabulous, was the amount of writing in them!
Keep up the excellent writing.

Snowy Writing!
Thank you to Mia who sent me this lovely piece of writing - labelling a snowman. I wonder how many of you managed to make a snowman when we had snow last week?

Your requests have been answered!
The Reading Ambassadors were asked if more Little Gem books could be available in the library!
Using the Scholastic Rewards, we have ordered some new books, some of these are the Little Gem range and some other fabulous books.
The books will be available in the library from next week.

Reading at home!
You know that I love receiving photos of children reading! So when on Saturday morning I received a photo of Faye and Thomas choosing to read when they got up, I was very happy!
After sharing the photo in my assembly this week, I then received more!
Thank you to Ty for sending me a photo of him reading before bed and then again on the way to school in the car.
The children hear me talk lots about how important reading is - and they take this on board.
The benefits are endless.
Please find time to enjoy a book this weekend.

Safety On the Road Outside School

Could we please remind parents/carers not to park on the yellow school markings outside of our school. This includes when dropping off or picking up a child from Poppyfields. This is so we can keep everyone in a school community safe. It is always tempting to pull up on the lines as
it's nearer, and
you're not going to be long, and
there's nobody about etc ......
But there is clear signage stating no parking between 8am and 5pm.
Please help us to keep everyone safe. Thank you.

Meet the staff

We are getting close to a winner..... Who is it going to be?

Christmas Holiday Club - Provided by Ace Coaching at The Crestwood School

Finally...
At this time of year, I know it might feel like we are asking for a lot. At Crestwood Park we try to support a range of charities and of course, our own school, so that our children can have the best possible experiences. Please know that we are so thankful for your tremendous support and generosity during this time.
Hopefully what we give back, makes it all worthwhile. Acts of kindness, like giving all our children an Advent Calendar (kindly donated to us), hopefully go some way to show you our appreciation. Enjoy opening that first door on Sunday everyone!
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
