SCIENCE DAY!

During our whole-school “Wonderful Water” Science Day, children from Year 1 to Year 6 became water explorers for the day! Classes got hands-on with bubbling investigations, mini-experiments, and curious challenges that helped them discover how water moves, changes, and shapes the world around us. From testing floating and sinking to watching water transform through evaporation and condensation, pupils had plenty of chances to question, predict, and experiment like real scientists. It was a joyful, splash-filled celebration of curiosity — and a fantastic way to see science come alive!

Pastoral Update

We hope you are well and have had a good week.

The festive season is approaching and although this can be an exciting time, it can also bring with it worries and anxiety.  Not everyone looks forward to Christmas. Routines become unpredictable and days are busier.  This can be overwhelming for some children and their families.

We are sharing this link which will hopefully help with supporting your children to make it a more enjoyable time.

As always we are here for you, please give us a call or email spriest@crestwod-p.dudley.sch.uk if we can help in any way.

Look after each other and have a lovely weekend, lots of love The Pastoral Team xxx

Mrs Cadman's News!

This week, children in Years 2,3,4,5 and 6, have received their WRITING JOURNAL.  These are for the children to use to explore writing for pleasure.  Each half term, I will set a task for the children to complete in their journals, but for the rest of the time, children can use these journals to write stories, diary entries, poems, reports - whatever they would like to write about.  They can take them home, but they will need to bring them back to school. Please encourage your child to write in these books - I know since having them on Wednesday, a lot of children have already started!!!

Rotary Club Competitions

Each year we invite children to enter the Rotary Club competitions.

The theme is HAPPINESS IN NATURE

We will be completing a writing competition for this in school time.

The art competition and photography competition, we ask that you have a go at these at home.  You can then submit the entries in at school and we will send them off to be part of the competition.

All the information is below.

If you have any further questions, please email Mrs Cadman - acadman@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk

Enrolments for new starters are now open for lessons in school and at Cable Plaza in Spring Term starting January 2026.  Enrolments are for new starters only. If you are already having lessons, no need to enrol again as lessons will carry on.

Please read carefully the Forest School kit list. We advise that years 1 & 2 can arrive in their forest school clothes and bring school uniform to change into after the session. Years 3,4,5 & 6 will wear school uniform as normal to school and bring their forest school clothes in a separate bag.

Please be aware that in some sessions, children will get wet and muddy therefore, please bring a separate coat for the session for your child to wear, keeping their school coat dry and clean for break and lunchtimes.

To participate in the session the following must be adhered to, strictly no denim or open toed shoes in any season this also includes crocs, long hair to be tied up, jewellery and earrings to be removed and finally NO school uniform to be worn to a Forest School session.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to me.

Many thanks

Foster Carers Wanted

Dudley Council are looking to recruit foster carers across the Dudley Borough. Foster care plays a vital part in so many children’s and young people’s lives. In Dudley, the need for foster carers is greater than ever. Please see the attached leaflet regarding taking the first steps into becoming a foster carer.

Anyone can have the dreaded... head lice.

We have had a donation of Full Marks head lice treatments. If you or your child/children are unfortunate enough to get them, please contact spriest@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk and I will arrange for you to collect a bottle from the school office or call (01384) 818315

Finally...

Children should have come home with an Advent Calendar tonight- thanks to our HSA for providing these.

Let the countdown to Christmas begin!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend as we enter this season of anticipation.
