Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

Well, the highlight of this week has certainly been celebrating our Mums and all the wonderful female figures in our lives. This morning the children put on an amazing performance of songs and showcased some wonderful portraits. It was great to see the adults then working alongside their children in classrooms to complete a whole array of activities. Thank you to all those who were able to attend. Thanks too if you sent in a photograph. Mrs Cadman did an amazing job of compiling these onto a slide show that we have continued to enjoy throughout the day. The accompanying rendition of Spice Girl’s ‘Mama’ to this will remain a fond memory for us all.

With only two weeks left of this term, Easter is fast approaching. To keep up to date with what is happening before then, please make sure your phone notifications are set to receive our sch.life messages! You can also access the school calendar via the link contained further on in this newsletter.

Happy Birthday to you...

Sending Birthday wishes to Mia, Lottie, Mercy and Joey who have celebrated their birthdays this week or will be celebrating their birthday over the weekend.

Mrs Cadman's English News

Great news!

As part of a course that myself and Miss Clarke went on 2 years ago, we were given lots of books for our library.  Two more boxes arrived this week, which was very exciting.  The Reading Ambassadors have had a sneaky peek - and will be labelling them up ready to go on our shelves soon!

Last Chance to bring in your Story in a Box!

Bring in your box by Monday.  The Reading Ambassadors will be judging them - winners will be announced in the final week of term.

Thank you to all the fabulous entries so far!

Community Kindness

We have asked.... and we've been given!

The TV in our entranceway had broken - so we asked around some local companies to see if they could help.

GEOFF HILL electrical store in Amblecote kindly donated a fabulous new TV.

We use this TV to display our SPARKS superstars!

A huge thank you to Geoff Hill!

Our SPARKS ambassadors wrote to some of the local shops asking for donations of Easter goodies, for our annual community drop.

Dan, the manager at ALDI in Kingswinford has kindly donated some creme eggs, which our SPARKS ambassadors picked up today!

Thank you to ALDI for supporting our school.

Crestwood Park Garden!

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated gardening equipment for school.

This week, the children have been keeping a close eye on their plants, making sure they have been watered and are getting enough sunshine.

Our gardening challenge -  we’re asking for children to grow something at home and then bring it in to be planted into our garden after the Easter holidays. It could be a fruit, vegetable, herb or flower, anything at all. This will help kick-start the garden to get it looking as healthy as possible, as well as giving children the experience of growing something for themselves.

Many thanks,

Mr Powell

Amazing Minority Instrument Project – 9 free instrumental lessons!

Dear Parent/Carer,

Starting after Easter 2025 we have an amazing opportunity for any KS 2 pupil to learn what are known as minority instruments. These are instruments usually found in an orchestra that are dwindling in number – cello, double bass, oboe, bassoon, euphonium and tuba.

Over the next 9 weeks we will run beginner group lessons on a Monday or Tuesday at our music base at Cable Plaza on the Waterfront near Merry Hill. Each lesson will last for 25 minutes. The children will all be beginner students and learn how to play a musical instrument in a fun, relaxed group environment. All the instruments will be provided, and they will be able to bring their instrument home every week to allow them to practice and try new things!

Sessions will take place on the days and times below, starting from the week beginning 28th April. Spaces will be limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. To take up this fantastic offer please click on this link and complete the necessary information.

We’re looking forward to some exciting music making!

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
