Welcome to our Newsletter
Well, this week ended wonderfully with our Harvest Assembly, Cake sale and Coffee Afternoon in aid of Macmillan cancer. Thank you for such a wonderful turn out and for your support. Read on and view the amazing winning 'Bake Off' cakes! We have also included a survey to ask your thoughts on how you felt this afternoon's event went. We do really value your feedback.
You will have the opportunity to feedback to class teachers and hear from them about how your child is settling into their new year group at Parents Evening on Wednesday 8th October. In a change to how this will be organised, teachers will be based in the hall and not individual classrooms. The appointments will remain at 5 minutes and need to be pre-booked. We'll send you a message once bookings are open!

CONGRATULATIONS to Isacc (Overall Winner), Haidar and Hassan (Key Stage 2 Winners) and Madeline (Reception and Key Stage 1 Winner).
Crestwood Park does Bake Off certainly wow'ed us today.
Thank you to all those who stayed for our Macmillan cake sale after the Harvest assembly.
We have raised £506! Thank you for your generosity in raising such a huge amount of money for Macmillan!

We want your feedback - please tell us how we can improve by completing the short survey.

Afterschool clubs.
After School Clubs are happening now! It's not too late to join.
Payments to be made on Teachers2Parents.

Don't forget swimming sessions are taking place for Year 6 children every Tuesday morning up until October Half Term.

Please read carefully the Forest School kit list. We advise that years 1 & 2 can arrive in their forest school clothes and bring school uniform to change into after the session. Years 3,4,5 & 6 will wear school uniform as normal to school and bring their forest school clothes in a separate bag.
Please be aware that in some sessions, children will get wet and muddy therefore, please bring a separate coat for the session for your child to wear, keeping their school coat dry and clean for break and lunchtimes.
To participate in the session the following must be adhered to, strictly no denim or open toed shoes in any season this also includes crocs, long hair to be tied up, jewellery and earrings to be removed and finally NO school uniform to be worn to a Forest School session.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to me.
Many thanks

Pastoral Update
-
Improved emotional well-being - a positive inner voice helps to reduce negative thoughts.
-
It increases resilience - children learn to bounce back and learn from experiences.
-
Helps with problem solving - it creates a 'can do' attitude.
-
Motivates - encourages children to 'have a go' when things get tough through self belief.
-
Builds stronger relationships - helps children to work through different social situations.
-
Modelling positivity - children learn from our actions
-
Challenge negative thoughts - work through problems/worries together replacing with positive alternatives or solutions.
-
Encourage positive inner voice - 'I can do this' 'I am kind' giving self belief.
-
Growth mindset - see challenges as a time for not being afraid to make a mistake as this is how we learn.
-
Supportive environment - create a calm environment where the child feels safe and cared for.

Mrs Cadman's News!

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming up!
On Parents Evening - Wednesday 8th October - the books will be on sale in the Reception classroom.
There are some fantastic deals available and a wide range of books.
Cash and card payment are available.
Each purchase enables the school to purchase books through the scholastic rewards system - so the more you spend, the more books we can get in school.
Take a look at the website link to see what is available.

Finally...
In a day where we have been surrounded by cake, I will sign off this week with a quote that you should all embrace this weekend...
"Life is short. Eat the cake."
Please take a look at the newsletter titled "What's Going On In Our Community" for information regarding events in the local area!
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
