Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

Well, this week our kind acts have continued. It is great to see so much baking, gardening and litter picking taking place in and around our community. See below for some great pictures displaying some of these- it is clear that we have some truly kind pupils at Crestwood Park!

The term is certainly gaining momentum and in the coming weeks we have a Well-Being themed day and some more class trips to look forward to. Also, don’t forget next Thursday is an INSET Day so school will be closed to pupils.

Happy Birthday to you...

We would like to say a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to... Taylor, Nathaniel, Amelia and Mabel who have celebrated their birthday this week or will be celebrating over the weekend!

BE A KIND SPARK!

From tidying bedrooms to wonderful posters reminding us of an important issue- the kind acts just keep on coming!

Celebrating Our Children's Work

Children in Year 5 have been researching Coal Mining in our local area, particularly focusing on the lives and risks of the coal miners.

Lillie has produced an outstanding piece of work with some great information included, take a look.

Well Done Lillie.

Accelerated Reader

Children in Year 2,3,4,5 and 6 have access to the Accelerated Reader program.  Each half term, children take a STAR Assessment quiz to identify the level that they are reading at.  This assessment generates a ZPD number - a book level.  Children can then choose an appropriate book.  Once they have read the book, they will be able to complete a quiz on the computer in their own log in area of Accelerated Reader.

Can you solve Mr Powell's maths question...

If you tell Mr Powell the correct answer on Monday, you will receive 5 House Points!

Two years ago, I was three times as old as my brother was. In three years, I will be twice as old as my brother. How old are each of us now?

Keep earning those house points!

Support for families

Finally...

In a term where we are all trying extra hard to be kind, I feel obliged to end with another kindness quote this week…

“Kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give.”

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
