Welcome to

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

We ended the week with a fantastic Healthy Lifestyle Day- please see some photos below. Children competed a fun fruit and vegetable run, took part in a fitness workshop, performed yoga, and learned lots about how to be healthy!

It is however unfortunate that school has been hit with a sickness bug this week, so some children missed out on today’s events. After seeking advice from Public Health, we have increased cleaning and handwashing procedures across school. Whilst we were not instructed to close any of our classes, our year 1 class has been affected most. It is therefore imperative that, if your child is poorly, you keep him/her at home for the next 48hours. We need to lesson the risk of spreading as much as possible.

Happy Birthday to you...

Sending Birthday wishes to Elsie-May, Adah and Isacc who have celebrated their birthday this week or will be over the weekend.

Crestwood Park does 'Bake Off' - NEXT THURSDAY!

On Thursday, 26th September Crestwood Park will be holding its annual ‘Bake Off’.

It will be for children and parents to enter together and you can enter any shop brought cake or bake you wish: buns, muffins, sponges or scones whatever takes your fancy!

During the day our school cooks, will be judging the entries and there will be several cooking related prizes which will be announced during the Harvest Assembly on Friday.

This year we have decided the theme will be Princesses and/or Superhero's.

So get those baking tins brushed up and get practising for those ‘Show Stoppers’ or ‘Signature Bakes’ that you all have in you and… BAKE!

Following on from our 'Bake Off', on Friday 27th at 9.00am, you are invited to our Harvest Assembly. Afterwards, we will be selling the cakes as part of our Macmillan Coffee Morning.

So please do come along to enjoy our Harvest Assembly and Macmillan Coffee Morning.

Mrs Cadman's English News.

This week I would like to introduce you to our Year 6 Reading Ambassadors.  These children put themselves forward for this role because of their passion and commitment towards READING!  During the year, they will support pupils with their reading, take part in assemblies, help out with World Book Day, manage our Pupil Librarians and many more jobs.  They have been introduced in assembly this week, so the children know who they are if they need any advice or support with their English skills.

Norovirus Guidance

Following the increased number of children falling ill over the last few days we have attached NHS guidance for Norovirus.

Please rest assured that a deep clean will be performed across school this evening to ensure all areas are disinfected and ready for children to come back on Monday.

If your child is sick or had diarrhoea, our policy is that they stay off school for 48 hours from the last bout of illness. It is important that parents follow this ruling to ensure it does not spread across the school.

Covid Guidance

What to do if you have tested positive

If you or your child have tested positive for COVID-19:

· try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 3 days after the day the test was taken if you or your child are under 18 years old – children and young people tend to be infectious to other people for less time than adults

· try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days after the day you took your test if you are 18 years old or over

· avoid meeting people who are more likely to get seriously ill from viruses, such as people with a weakened immune system, for 10 days after the day you took your test

You are no longer required to do a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test if you have symptoms.

Finally...

Wishing you all a happy and healthy weekend.

Let’s hope those nasty bugs disappear soon and we can welcome lots of you back in school, fighting fit, on Monday.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
