Welcome to our Newsletter

Well, the scorching temperatures have certainly been with us this week! Several classes have been on school trips and our children have coped amazingly with the heat! Keep scrolling to take a sneak peek at where they visited and the fun they had.

This morning Reception class entertained us with a wonderful and quite emotional assembly showcasing their achievements and experiences from their first year in school. It was great to see how far they have come and the progress they have made. As always, this is down to the hard work and commitment of our teaching teams.

A big thank you must go to staff this week for ensuring our children have stayed stay safe and happy in such hot conditions. With this in mind, please all take note of the Health and Safety messages contained in this newsletter.

Happy Birthday to you...

Sending Birthday wishes to Zachary, Archie, Darcie, Boris, Violet-Rose, Nahla, Conor, Mia-Louise and Evelyn-Mae who have celebrated their birthday this week or will be over the weekend.

Year 6 Residential - Pioneer 2025!

Pioneer was an amazing experience, filled with many enjoyable adventures. On Friday when we got there, first we found out who we were sharing a room with, then our first activity was raft building. After that, we put on our harnesses and took part in abseiling. Whilst some people did that, others did the zipline. We had dinner, went to a campfire and sang songs. On day two, we started with breakfast then headed over to the trek course or high ropes (which included the leap of faith) later on, we swapped over. Both of which were scary but fun. After that we had lunch –it was pizza and garlic bread. We then went to the rock-climbing wall, and we set our self a goal of how high we wanted to go to try and beat it. Next, we did archery and played several games with the targets. After dinner, we did orienteering. On the final day after breakfast, we did caving where there were special tunnels like the smiler, reborn and u-tube that were super tight. Then we played games outside like evolution and build a tower. Finally, we went to the gift shop then came back to school. It was a great experience for all of us and was so much fun, we didn’t want to leave.

Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic day in the sunshine at Dudley Zoo. We saw lots of animals and found out lots of fascinating facts. Did you know, a giraffe is really called a Camelopardalis?

Yesterday Year 4 had a fantastic time on their school trip. They went to Dudley Canal Trust and took part in a fascinating world of watery wildlife workshop. They watched some interesting videos of a badger set that lived in the canals and they even spotted bats on our barge boat ride. We finished the day mini beast hunting in the canal gardens, and we created our very own butterflies using a peg. We had a jammed pack day of fun in the sun!

Afterschool clubs.

Take a look at the Summer After School Clubs.

If there are any changes to clubs, we will notify you as soon as possible via a sch life message.

Pastoral Update

The Eco Flower Festival took place last weekend, we hope some of you managed to pop along to Wordsley Church to see our beautiful school display.  We feel so excited to have been apart of this wonderful community event. A huge thank you once again to all of those who helped to make this happen.

Stay SAFE in the heat.

Please remember to send a water bottle and a cap into school for your child during these hot sunny days.

Please apply sun cream before they come to school.

We will always remind children to find shady places when outside and we will make alternative arrangements for break, lunch and blast time, when the heat is too much.

Forest School

Forest School Calendar and Kit List

Only a few sessions left of Forest School this term.

Please pay close attention to the required items.  Even when it is hot, children still need to have long sleeves and trousers.

Mrs Cadman's English News

This week I have set a Summer Reading Challenge.

Children are to continue my story starter.

Children can write it in their writing journals (Y2-Y6) or if any Reception or Year 1 children want to take part, please write your story down on a piece of paper.

I am looking forward to reading these fabulous stories.
