Welcome to our Newsletter!
We've ended the week with a fabulous assembly from Year 4 where we learnt all about the amazing Anglo-Saxons! This week we have been busy with anti-bullying week assemblies and activities which have shared the 'Reach Out' message...see if your children can tell you how they can 'reach out' if they have a worry or if someone is upsetting them.
From Monday to Thursday next week we will be running a series of NSPCC assemblies where we will be raising children's awareness of abuse, all delivered in a child-friendly way. There are lots of resources available for you to use at home with children- see below for more details. Also, next Friday we look forward to another class assembly- this time it is the turn of Year 5!

BBC Children in Need
Wow.... Didn't the children look fab in their pyjamas and Pudsey outfits. Thank you to everybody for joining in and sending in your donations for BBC Children in Need. I'm sure Pudsey will be amazed when we announce how much we have collected.
Thank you to our Governor Mr Davies for drawing the raffle this morning. Well done to the raffle winners who enjoyed choosing their prizes.
As promised, Molly in Year Four sold her homemade 'Children in Need' bookmarks and decorations at breaktime today- well done Molly, we look forward to announcing your total too, in next week's newsletter.
NSPCC Resources for you to use at home...
The NSPCC has developed an adapted version of their assembly for parents/carers to use at home with children. This can be found here: www.nspcc.org.uk/keeping-children-safe/support-for-parents/safety. With the help of celebrities, the film focuses on how a child can get support if they have any worries or concerns.
To complement the assembly, there are some resources that can be used to enable further discussion whilst doing activities with your children. These are hosted on the NSPCC website www.nspcc.org.uk/activities.
Online safety hub You may also like to visit the NSPCC Online Safety Hub where you will find advice and information on a range of different online safety topics including gaming, social media, sharing nudes, parental controls and more.
You will also find online safety information for families of children with additional needs and disabilities. We have worked with Ambitious about Autism and parents and carers who have children with additional needs and disabilities to create activities to help talk about online safety which you can find at www.nspcc.org.uk/keeping-children-safe/online-safety/online-safety-families-children-with-send.
Childline Under 12’s Website Childline also have a website with age appropriate advice for primary school children on topics such as bullying. It also has games and other interactive tools. Your child can visit it at www.childline.org.uk/kids.
If you’d like to know more about the NSPCC’s work, or take a look at the wide range of information and advice which is available for parents and carers, please visit their website www.nspcc.org.uk/parents.
Talking PANTS with your children Talk PANTS is a simple conversation to help keep your child safe from sexual abuse. From P through to S, each letter of PANTS provides a simple but valuable rule that can help keep your child safe. You can find out more and download the free resources at www.nspcc.org.uk/pants.
Penguin and Ladybird have partnered with the NSPCC to create a brand new Pantosaurus book aimed at children ages 4 - 8. You can find copies of the new book on sale, either in Matalan’s selected stores and online, selected SPAR stores or at https://shop.nspcc.org.uk/. A message from the Pastoral Team...
We would like to say a HUGE thank you for all of the beautiful, creative, thoughtful tree decorations which you have been sent in for our tree festival at the church. The Crestwood Park tree is going to look amazing. We will begin dressing our tree and will share photos nearer the time. If any of you would still like to make a decoration there is still time to bring them into school. We hope you are all safe and well and have a lovely weekend. We look forward to seeing you all next week. Love from The Pastoral Team xxx

Winter HAF Programme
Families will be able to book activities from the 1st of December, all activities will take place within the winter holiday period.
There are a wide range of activities on offer, from Santa hunts at the Black Country Living Museum to festive yoga and winter wonderlands! All activities have food provided and are completely free.
If your child is in receipt of income based free school meals you will be able to access this provision, however you will need to register.
Feedback from the summer programme was overwhelmingly positive, children shared their experiences of learning new skills and making new friends. Parents also told us how it relieved the pressure that the holidays can bring.
To register please follow this link https://holidayactivitiesindudley.com/login/
If you have any families that didn’t manage to register or families that are struggling with the booking system please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team by email at info@dudleycvs.org.uk
Warmest Regards,
On Monday it was World Diabetes Day. Diabetes is very close to our hearts as one of our pupils has this challenging condition. Although we didn't mark this occasion as a whole school, we were reminded of the fact that last year's Year 6 class donated all the money they raised from their Enterprise Projects to Diabetes UK... an amazing total of £182.61! (You can see the letter from Diabetes UK, thanking the children for their donation, on our Community Board at the front of the hall.)

As promised, here's a clearer version of Alyssia's (Yr6) stunning Remembrance poem.

Proposed Location of Electric Vehicle Bay

Locations have been identified based on a set of criteria, which include;
- Near residential properties with no off-street parking
- sufficient local power/grid capacity
- adequate footpath and road widths
- locations are free from other street furniture/overhanging trees
- having minimum impact on existing on-street parking practices
These are chargepoints which can charge a 40kW battery in 4 to 6 hours and are suited to residential areas where residents are more likely to leave their vehicles parked for a prolonged period, or overnight.
In order to safeguard bays for the use of charging only, it is the intention to introduce experimental Traffic Regulation Orders such that any necessary enforcement of the bays can be carried out if required.
This first phase of the scheme will see 53 chargepoint locations installed across the borough. Work to identify a second tranche of sites is already underway.
Useful information on using electric vehicles can be found via the Energy Saving Trust
For more information please email traffic.management@dudley.gov.uk
If you prefer a paper questionnaire, please contact us at traffic.management@dudley.gov.uk or call 0300 555 2345.
To have your say, please respond tot he questionnaire regarding the proposed site using the link below.
Looking after our Community
Message from Dudley MBC
This winter the pressures on residents across our borough are the toughest that they have ever faced. all residents of the Dudley Borough. Referrals can be made by calling 01384 817086 or emailing winterwarmth@dudley.gov.uk with the residents contact details. To keep it quick and simple we do not need lots of details and we have no referral form – however if there is information that you think may be useful to us please let us know, especially if the home gas or electric supply is off.
The rising cost of energy is making it so hard for people to keep their homes warm, lit and safe. Cost of living increases from all sides, food shopping to mortgages and rent, childcare costs to essentials like winter clothing and petrol are mounting up. We are here to support- We may be able to give residents an emergency top up voucher, usually sent by text message, which they can use to top up the energy on their pre-payment meter accounts if they are struggling to afford to top up or off supply.
- We may be able to give shopping vouchers, to ease pressure on other costs allowing some payment to be made towards monthly payment accounts.
- We give low cost heated throws to help residents to stay warm when they are not able to use their main heating systems.
- We can provide temporary heaters in the event of a system breakdown and possibly assist with repairs or replacements.
- We can contact suppliers and discuss payment plans, debt resolutions and make applications to charity trusts to attempt to clear debts. We also refer on for specialised debt support in the borough.
- We can help residents to improve their homes via funding and grants to help them hold on to the heat that they pay for and reduce energy waste and carbon emissions.
