Welcome to our Newsletter
It has been SAT’s week in school and the year 6 children have worked so hard and shown determination and perseverance throughout. We are very proud of them. I also want to thank the staff who were involved. We could not hold SAT’s breakfast club and administer the SAT’s so effectively without the help of the wonderful team of staff at Crestwood Park.
Year 5 assembly took place this morning and the class shared a wealth of knowledge about The Black Country. As part of their Local Area Study, year 5 focus on coal mining and it was clear that they have learned a great deal about what this entailed. They all looked great in their costumes and their version of Dolly Parton’s 9 till 5 reminded us of just how hard working conditions were for children working in the mines years ago.
We have just one week left of this half term, so next Friday will be our Achiever’s Assembly. All parents are welcome to attend.

Lateness

At Crestwood Park we expect children to arrive at school between 8.40 and 8:50am. By 8:50am all children should be in their classes and the classroom doors will be closed. If Children arrive between 8.50 and 9.00am they will be let in through the classroom doors, after this they will need to go through the main office.
If children arrive between 8:50 and 9:10am they will be marked as 'L' on the register for authorised lateness. If they arrive late after 9:10am, they will be marked as a ‘U’ for unauthorised late. Late children will also have to catch up and complete the morning registration task at the start of lunchtime.
If a child reaches 5 'Lates' during a school year, we will not authorise anymore and further lateness will be classed as unauthorised absence for a whole morning.
At this point, parents will be contacted, in order to discuss actions/support needed to resolve lateness.

Finally...
It really feels like summer is on its way and so I hope the sun continues to shine for you all this weekend! It really does help us all to feel better!
My quote this week reiterates just that…
“Oh sunshine! The most precious gold to be found on earth!”
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
