Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

Well, we made it to half term! A term that feels like it gained momentum! This week has been no exception- it has felt incredibly busy but also very rewarding. On Tuesday, our school was filled with love and it was great to see the children wearing their most loved outfits! Hoodies, snoodies and pj's seemed to be very popular! Wednesday and Thursday evenings saw the school filled with parents and children attending parents evenings. Everyone I saw left with smiles on their faces and I know both teachers and parents alike really welcome the opportunity to meet and have worthwhile discussions. Thank you too for supporting our Book Fair and for those of you who entered our 'Guess the Owner' Competition- results and answers are further on in the newsletter. The support of our families is something we value. This term, we have had great success with our fundraising efforts and we have managed to encourage lots of you to show your respect and promote safety when dropping your children to school. Our Achiever's assembly this morning too was full of positivity, super SPARKS role models and smiles- well done everyone!

Happy Birthday to you..

We would like to say a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to... Daniel, Benjamin, Mason and Ameila who have celebrated their birthday this week, or will be celebrating over the weekend.

& Happy Birthday to those children who will be celebrating during the half break...Joey, Gordon, Elsie and Layna!

A message from the Pastoral Team...

What an exciting term this has been, we can't believe how quickly it has gone.  We have really enjoyed hearing how you have been taking part in our 'take notice' challenges, you are all amazing. Please look out next term for our new challenges.
In the meantime, we would like to share some free activities (and some at a low cost) offered  by Dudley council from creative activities to free swimming during half term.  We hope you all get plenty of rest and enjoy spending time together, fingers crossed the sun is going to shine.

Thank you to everyone for their support, take care with love from The pastoral team xxx

World Book Day - Thursday 2nd March

Save the Date!!

Thursday March 2nd is World Book Day.

Your child is welcome to dress up as their favourite book character - they can even bring in the book to share in class.

There will be activities throughout the day, related to World Book Day, including competitions, learning a poem and story time with the Year 6 Reading Ambassadors.

We look forward to seeing all the different characters.

Celebrating our Children's work

Every week we would like to celebrate a piece of work which has been created by our children. If you child produces work at home that you would like to share, please send it in to us at info@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk

As you may be aware, last week was Children's Mental Health Week. As promised in last week's newsletter, here are some of the children's fabulous well-being flowers.

It was a really great way for the children to express their ideas of what the five ways of well-being mean to them.

There were so many amazing ones...here are just a few from different classes. Can you spot yours?

Guess the Owner Competition

The winner is: Ava Mountford!

The answers:

1) Ms Bullas                       6) Mrs Brierley

2) Mrs Hale                        7) Mrs Kennedy

3) Mrs Marsh                      8) Miss Williams

4) Mrs Tonks                      9) Mrs Snape

5) Mrs Hughes                   10) Miss Cotter

Well done if you guess any of them correctly!

We’re half-way through the spring WOW Walk of Fame Challenge!

There is still time to move up the leaderboard – Keep up the great work and to walk/wheel to school (cycle, scoot or use park and stride) for the rest of the month to gain extra leaderboard points!

Rags 2 Riches - Collection scheduled for 23rd March!

Do you have clothes in your wardrobe that you no longer wear, maybe last year’s fashions, or that buy that was too good to leave but it’s not really you after all?

Please help us fundraise by donating your good quality unwanted, re-useable (clean, dry and wearable) clothes and accessories

(please pair and tie shoes together)

Your donations become affordable clothing in other countries - so please do not send poor quality, dirty or wet items, and no duvets, pillows, curtains, books, CDs or bric-a-brac.

STOP and THINK - is it something you’d wear out and about yourself or pass to a friend?

If not, no-one else will want to buy and wear it either, so unfortunately it’s not reusable and can’t go in the bag.

Just pop them into a bag and bring them to the school office or give them to your child's class

Parent Voice is still going ahead!

Thursday 2nd March 6 pm at The Crestwood Pub!

This meeting will bring together the members of the Crestwood Park Primary School HSA and Parent Voice.

As always, this is a chance to voice any ideas/suggestions about school life.

Come along if you are interested in fundraising or want to share ideas.

We look forward to seeing you on the 2nd March!

And finally...

I can only reiterate my opening sentiments as I sign off this week's newsletter. As an eventful but hugely rewarding half term comes to an end I want to thank you ALL for your positivity, support, generosity and above all your smiles each and every day. Have a well-earned rest everyone, and I look forward to hearing all about your half term adventures when you return on the 27th!

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children our safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
