Welcome to our Final Newsletter of the Autumn Term!
Our children in Years 3,4,5 and 6 treated us to a wonderful Carol Service this morning; their beautiful singing and expert narration was the perfect way to end the term. We were really pleased to see so many parents and families in the hall- thank you to those who stayed behind for a drink and a mince pie!
There's been plenty of activity throughout the week- Reception and Key Stage One have enjoyed their Christmas Craft afternoons, our SPARKS Ambassadors have been busy with their festive 'Act of Kindness' (see below!) and a group of children from our Choir attended Himley Mill Care Home and entertained residents with some carols and festive jokes! Finally, your generous donations were collected by the Black Country Foodbank on Thursday- as always, thankyou for your generosity.
You will have noticed that the Trim Trail at the front of the school has been out of action all term due to some unsteady beams making it unsafe for our children. We are pleased to announce that this is going to be repaired in January and we are able to pay for it because of your contributions over the term- thankyou!
Further down the newsletter we have revealed the amount we raised from 'Breakfast with Santa'- this is going to go a long way to paying for and subsidising the events across the remainder of the year.
And thinking of next year... we've got lots to look forward to already! A highlight last year was the Talent Show and we can't wait to see the return of this super evening on January 26th- Mrs Kennedy will be sending our information in the new term.
Happy Birthday to you..
We would like to say a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to... Rhys, Zach, Kyron, Mihail, Rosie and Ty who have celebrated their birthday this week, or will be celebrating over the weekend.

A message from the Pastoral Team...
Merry Christmas to all of our children and families, look after each other and stay safe!
Lots of love the Pastoral Team xx
Change of time for ABC Assemblies...
At Crestwood Park we always make decisions based on what we feel is best for our children.
Our daily assemblies form an important and valuable part of the children’s school day. Our assemblies on Monday to Thursdays are held at 9.00am. To ensure a consistent approach and to keep daily routines predictable for the children, we have decided to trial a new time for our Friday assembly.
Therefore, from January, we are going to be holding all Friday assemblies (ABC/Class) at the new time of 9.00am.
The arrangements for invites to the assembly will remain the same. All parents are invited to attend. If your child is receiving an ABC award at the assembly, you will be notified on the Wednesday of that week.
We look forward to welcoming you all in the new year, at this new time, on a Friday!
Breakfast with Santa
We raised a massive £1337.00 at our Breakfast with Santa this year!
Once we've taken out the cost of the festive breakfast and the treats we will have lots left to enjoy spending on our children with next year!
We really do appreciate all of your donations and involvement with our events across the year- all money goes back into school to be spent on our children.
Thank you for your continued support, especially when times are tricky for lots of us.

Celebrating our Children's work
Every week we would like to celebrate a piece of work which has been created by our children. If you child produces work at home that you would like to share, please send it in to us at info@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk

Choir visit to Himley Mill Care Home
From Hillcroft Nursing home:
"My name is Lisa Davies, I am the Manager of Hillcroft Nursing Home.
This afternoon we had the pleasure of your Primary school children entertaining our residents and staff.
I just wanted, or rather we all wanted to say what a delight it was, their singing was fabulous and full of confidence. Our residents thought it was great and their visit really made a difference to their day, especially taking biscuits around the residents, they were very polite to everyone in the building. I especially loved the high fives I had on the way out!
A MASSIVE THANK YOU AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Regards,
Lisa Davies"

Looking after our Community
Welcoming new members of the team...
We've had four additions to the team this term: Mrs Davies supports teaching in Reception and Year 1 and Miss Pugh and Miss Johnson both support children in Reception. Finally Miss Timmins is our most recent addition and is supporting children at lunchtime. A very warm welcome to the CPPS family, to you all!

Community Acts of Kindness
This week our Community Acts of Kindness team have been out in the community spreading Christmas Joy. We have shared below a lovely thank you message from one of our school neighbours.

Thank you to all of your generous foodbank donations which were collected on Thursday. We can't do these things without you and we appreciate that times are challenging and it just shows how wonderful you all are to still contribute to those who are in need of a little extra help this Christmas!
Thank you to Kyron & Lily who helped carry all of the donations but unfortunately missed their photo opportunity as they were rehearsing for the carol service.

And finally...
I'd like to say a huge thankyou to all the children, families and staff across the Crestwood Park family who have made my time here as Deputy HT and Headteacher so wonderful. 'Part Two' of this morning's assembly was amazing and I was completely blown away with the enthusiasm and pure brilliance of our children and the care and attention that the staff put into such a memorable event for me. Thankyou so much.
Being Headteacher of Crestwood Park for the past four years has been a whirlwind! There have been a few notable bumps in the road...COVID, power cuts and heatwaves to name but a few...however these have been outweighed a hundred times over by the highlights- the many, many times when I have felt overwhelming pride in our school team and our children. I leave CPPS in very strong and capable hands and I know the school will go from strength to strength with Mrs Kennedy at the helm.
So it's goodbye from me - thankyou all for your support (and challenges that have kept me on my toes!). I will miss my Crestwood Park family so, so much.
Have a wonderful Christmas folks, look after each other and yourselves and I wish you all the very best for 2023. I'll sign off by pinching a line from one of my favourite films.... Crestwood Parkers, it's going to be hard to say goodbye because "it might actually be that the people that I love, are in fact, you."
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children our safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
