Welcome to our Newsletter!
It's been a busy week in school and we've ended with a super A,B,C assembly- the first one of the year! Our new Reception children have done exceptionally well and are really getting settled with their new routines. The children are looking amazingly smart- thankyou parents for your support with this. (Please remember to write names in uniform, especially jumpers and cardigans!)
One of the changes this term is the move away from our 'Behaviour Ladders' to our 'SPARKS Steps'. Children who get to the top of these steps - the 'over and above podium' have consistently demonstrated all of our SPARKS; SMART, POLITE, AWARE, RESPECTFUL, KIND and SAFE and get to have their picture taken for the TV screen in the entrance foyer and a photograph to bring home too. Ask your children about the Steps and see what they can tell you! Our new Behaviour policy is on our website here - we'd love any feedback.
As mentioned in the sch.life message earlier in the week, schools are closed on Monday for Her Majesty's funeral and will mark the last day of national mourning. We are looking forward to seeing all children back in school on Tuesday. Well done to all the children who have managed 100% attendance so far. Last Friday we rewarded all 100% children with ice-creams after our whole school mile walk. Further into the term, children who have maintained 100% attendance for a specific time, will be able to eat their lunch on specially decorated tables and have extra treats. Our attendance policy has also been updated, in line with DfE guidelines- you can read this here - again, all feedback is welcomed.

Thursday 29th September - Crestwood Park Bake Off and Macmillan Coffee Morning!
Get your little chefs ready for this year’s school ‘Bake off’ on Thursday 29th September.
If you would like to take part, cakes can be taken to your child’s class on the morning of the 29th. They will then be displayed, ready for judging! This year our judge will be Alan Millichip from the Kinver Rotary Club who have kindly donated gifts to our Year Six children for several years and they also organise the Santa Sleigh visit for our children at Christmas.
Following the Bake Off on the 29th, we will be holding our Harvest Festival Assembly on the morning of Friday 30th (9:15am) and immediately after the assembly, we will run our Macmillan Coffee morning where parents can buy cakes to take home or to eat with children in classrooms. This will run until 10:30am.
This year, we are very excited to announce that our Bake- Off theme will be 'A Cake (or cakes!) Fit for a King'!
All entries are appreciated whether they are homemade or thoughtfully brought and all money raised will be donated to Macmillian Cancer Support.
We look forward to seeing (and tasting!) your creations!

Parent Voice Meeting - 23rd September
Our Parent Voice group is there for parents and carers to discuss, ask questions and support the running of the school.
The aim of the group is to do exactly what the name suggests- give parents a voice!
The first meeting will be held in school on Friday 23rd September.
It will start at 9.00am with Mrs Kennedy.
Refreshments will be provided and all are welcome!
If you are a new parent to our school, we’d love to see you and hear your thoughts too.
This first meeting is always a chance to discuss any ideas or answer any questions you might have about the year ahead.
If you have any further questions regarding the meeting or can confirm your attendance, please let Mrs Kennedy know when you see her on the playground or send her an e-mail:

And finally...
We wish you all a peaceful weekend. Take care of yourselves and each other- we look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children our safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
