Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

It was great to end this week with an ABC assembly. There were so many awards to present to the children and as always I was blown away by their many talents and commitments to hobbies and clubs outside of school. This year, as a school, we are striving to be as socially proactive as possible. We are pledging to carry out 'Acts of Kindness' and win ourselves some super kind awards! Already, our SPARKS captains have been out delivering leaflets in the local community and some children have designed some posters to encourage us to act with kindness. Our 5p Fridays will resume next week and each class will donate the proceeds towards a charity of their choice. We have lots of fundraisers planned throughout the year; the first of which is our MacMillan Coffee Morning- more details are below. We recognise too, that money is tight, so instead of holding a Book Fair at this term's Parents Evening, we will be putting on a Book Exchange in the hall instead. Again, read on for more details...

School Photographs

Your child's school photographs will be taken on Wednesday 20th September.

If they have siblings in school they will be taken during the school day.

If your child has siblings outside of school and would like for them to have a photograph together, please make sure that you come to school at 8:30am for these to be taken.

We would like to welcome two new members to our Crestwood Park Family. Following the retirement of Sharon, we now have a new cleaner called Lauren working alongside Jo and Julia every morning.

In Key Stage 2 Mrs Gemma Priest has joined the teaching team to teach whilst Mrs Cadman carries out her Deputy responsibilities. She will be in school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. I know that both the year 5 and year 6 children have already built up a very good relationship with her and we are delighted that she is now a part of our team.

Looking After Our Wellbeing

PASTORAL UPDATE - By now some of you will have received letters for your child to receive support from the pastoral team.  Please make sure the reply slip is signed so that we know that you have read the information and agree to the support.  If you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you so much for your support.

Now for something exciting...Our weekly challenges are back!  This term the focus will be on kindness.

We are setting a competition, can you design a poster to encourage acts of kindness, this could be things you can do in and out of school?

We can't wait to see your designs, be as creative and imaginative as you like. Please give your poster to either Mrs Kennedy or Mrs Priest, we can't wait to see them.

Have a lovely weekend and start thinking about ways you can be kind. You can really make a difference to someone's day.

Lots of love from The pastoral team xxx

Celebrating our children's work

Year 6 have started the year working incredibly hard.

As you can see Elliot has completed a fantastic piece of science work - there is so much information on blood and blood vessels and the presentation is fabulous.

Well Done Elliot.

ASTHMA - PLEASE RETURN YOUR UPDATED FORMS AND INHALERS

We know getting back into a routine is sometimes tricky and we know how busy you all are, just a reminder for asthma forms to be returned along with 2 x inhaler (blue ones) and a spacer.

If you have misplaced them, it is not a problem, please call into the office and we can give you some more.

Thankyou to everyone who has returned them already, we really appreciate it.

Finally...

After some rain, the sun is shining to end the week and the children left smiling today after completing their first full week back!

All in all it has been a great start back to the new school year.

Here's hoping you all have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing all those smiles again next week!

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
