Welcome to our Newsletter
Today it was great to see our children supporting Children in Need by wearing their pyjamas and donating £1. The children also took part in the 'Strictly 25-step dance challenge' promoted by Children in Need. Dancing together in the hall this afternoon was a lovely way to end the week!
Next week we will belatedly celebrate World Diabetes Day. Please see more details about this below.
This week’s newsletter does also include our plans for Christmas at Crestwood Park! Unfortunately, due to Mandy, our catering manager and cook, being on sick leave, we do not have the capacity to run Breakfast with Santa for this year, but there is still plenty more planned for the children to enjoy. Keep scrolling for the list of festive events that will be taking place in school.

Rags to Riches
A big THANK YOU for everyone who generously donated to our 'Rags to Riches' collection. We donated an amazing 120kg, this means we raised over £30 for our School! With your support we have helped protect the planet, raise funds, and show children the value of recycling and teamwork.
Bikeability
Year 6 had the opportunity to take part in the Bikeability Level 2 Course at the start of this week.
Here is what Lilly thought about her training.
During our Level 3 Bikeability training, we learnt about ADAM. You can use ADAM, when you're going round a parked car. ADAM stands for A Door And More. We also learnt about COPP. COPP stands for Communication, Observation, Position and Priority. You communicate to others by showing them which way you are going. You can observe by checking if a car is coming or not. Your position is whether you're in primary or secondary position on the road. Priority is if you're coming out of a junction then you do not have priority because the people on the straight road have priority. We also learnt how to do a U-turn - you go right up to the curb and then turn around. Over the 2 days of Bikeability, I learnt a lot and had a lot of fun. We learnt a variety of skills. I think I am a much safer and a better rider.

Pastoral Update
Mrs Cadman's News!
It was lovely to share our new books with the children during Assembly time this week.
The children are very excited about seeing them on our shelves and being able to choose them as their reading books. The English Ambassadors are busy labelling them up ready to go out on the shelves.
We also started a Reading Club during lunchtime this week. 'Relax and Read' is a club run by the English Ambassadors, where anyone from Key Stage 2 can bring their book into the Cosy Cave and enjoy reading. It was so lovely to see so many children relaxing and reading this week!
Rotary Club Competitions
Each year we invite children to enter the Rotary Club competitions.
The theme is HAPPINESS IN NATURE.
We will be completing a writing competition for this in school time.
The art competition and photography competition, we ask that you have a go at these at home. You can then submit the entries in at school and we will send them off to be part of the competition.
All the information is below.
If you have any further questions, please email Mrs Cadman - acadman@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk

House Points
It is very close at the moment with the house points......
Please read carefully the Forest School kit list. We advise that years 1 & 2 can arrive in their forest school clothes and bring school uniform to change into after the session. Years 3,4,5 & 6 will wear school uniform as normal to school and bring their forest school clothes in a separate bag.
Please be aware that in some sessions, children will get wet and muddy therefore, please bring a separate coat for the session for your child to wear, keeping their school coat dry and clean for break and lunchtimes.
To participate in the session the following must be adhered to, strictly no denim or open toed shoes in any season this also includes crocs, long hair to be tied up, jewellery and earrings to be removed and finally NO school uniform to be worn to a Forest School session.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to me.
Many thanks

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
