Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

Design and Technology week has been a huge success- please see the photos later on in this newsletter. I have been so impressed with the skills displayed, but also the determination, resilience and patience lots of children have shown to create a project to be proud of.

Thank you to those families who sent in donations for the Foodbank today. Next week, we will be supporting World Down Syndrome Day. Look out for sch.life messages throughout the week with further details. The plan is for us to ‘Rock our Socks’, plant sunflower seeds during the school day and to sell ‘Up and Downs’ merchandise out on the playground from 3.10pm.  I appreciate that we have been asking for donations fairly frequently recently, but there are several charities that really are close to our heart. We always want to be able to support those that play a part in some of our children’s lives. Thanks in advance for your support.

Happy Birthday to you...

Sending Birthday wishes to Renesmai and Brianna who have celebrated their birthdays this week or will be celebrating their birthday over the weekend.

Pastoral Update

We hope you are all well and have had a good week, we hope you found something to make you smile or laugh along the way?

This week we'd like to share how to look after your wellbeing as a parent.  Life can be tough juggling the ups and downs of parenthood.  Children bring so much joy but sometimes this can be exhausting. Try to make some time for yourself, even if it's just a few minutes to recharge.  Hopefully you will find the tips on this website useful and can take some ideas from it to try.

Have a lovely weekend, look after each other, lots of love The Pastoral Team xxx

Story in a Box - COMPETITION

So far, we have had one entry for the Story in a Box competition. Thanks to Betsy in Year 4.

Remember you have until the 31st March to get your entries in, ready for the Reading Ambassadors to judge.

We will be displaying these Story Boxes around school for everyone to enjoy!

We look forward to your creations.

Reading Club

The Reading Ambassadors started the lunchtime Reading Club today and it was a great success.

Children brought their books into the Cosy Cave and enjoyed the peace and quiet whilst they read.

This club will be available every Friday lunchtime 12-12:30, for the children to pop in and read for pleasure.

Crestwood Park Garden!

As part of our drive to be more sustainable, we are going to start a school garden. The children will be getting hands on lessons about growing fruits, vegetables, herbs. As well as learning about where their food comes from, there are huge benefits for children’s health and well-being from being outdoors and supporting nature.

To get us up and running, we would like to ask for donations of any unused garden tools that are still in good condition. We would greatly appreciate any:

  • Spades
  • Garden forks
  • Seed trays
  • Watering cans
  • Trowels

If you have any of these that you would be able to donate could they please be brought to school for Monday 17th March.

Many thanks,

Mr Powell

Health and Safety Update

Online safety….

Watching and Browsing Online - Internet Matters
According to Ofcom, 90% of children are watching online videos and browsing the internet regularly. Children may love to stream videos and look up information, it’s a fun way to learn and relax after all but they must be guided. The e-space is filled with inappropriate content and dangerous material. It is important that parents and even teachers, are able to steer their pupils and youngsters, towards the right places when online. Internet Matters has published a guide dedicated to supporting adults in setting digital boundaries for children, so that they can make smart choices and build healthy online habits. In the Internet Matters guide you’ll find practical tips on managing content access, the use of safety controls, advice on setting boundaries and ways to educate children on how to stay secure online. Finally...

As we wrap up another busy week, that seems to have flown by, please take the time to recharge this weekend- you all deserve some rest and relaxation!
