Welcome to our Newsletter
Well, as we arrive at the end of this half term, it is lovely to be able to reflect back on some highlights. Geography Day and Music Day ensured our children had the opportunity to explore each subject and develop their learning through a range of engaging and interactive activities. Our Talent Show was yet again a huge success, proving that we have so many children who excel in the arts.
Next half term promises to be as eventful and worthwhile. In addition to class assemblies, World Book Day and Mother’s Day celebrations, we will also be showing our support to some charities close to our heart.
On Friday 28th February we will be asking you to ‘Go Bright for Muscular Dystrophy’. For a donation, we would like our children to wear their brightest clothes and complete some challenges in class.
On Friday 21st March we will be supporting World Down Syndrome Day and asking you to ‘Rock your Socks! ‘ A Sunflower challenge will also form part of the day, so in preparation, we will be asking all children to provide an egg box, small cup or something similar to plant their seed into. More details will be shared nearer the time.
So..as always, it is crucial that you keep reading our newsletters to stay up to date with all that has been happening and what will be happening in school!
Happy Birthday to you...

Sending Birthday wishes to Baani, Bodhi and Ben S who have celebrated their birthdays this week or will be celebrating over the weekend.

The Book Bus!

The Book Bus is coming to Crestwood Park Primary School!
On Wednesday 26th February, The BOOK BUS will be on our car park offering a fantastic range of books to buy.
During the afternoon, children will get the opportunity to take a look at what is on offer and even purchase a book. To encourage independence, children will be allowed to bring in money to spend during their slot, or if you prefer, you can purchase vouchers through The Book Bus website for them to spend. The Book Bus will be available after school until 5pm, if parents prefer to purchase the books. More details to follow.
Similar to the Book Fairs we usually hold, for each purchase made at The Book Bus, school will get rewards to spend on books for our library areas.
Happy Reading!

Afterschool clubs.
Take a look at the After School Clubs taking place after half term!
Please note that there are no clubs the first week back.

Congratulations to all those children who received their AWARE Sparks badge yesterday!

Lunchtime Clubs

As well as the lunchtime Chess Club happening on a Tuesday for Key Stage 2 children, we will be offering a Reading lunchtime club. This will be run by the Reading Ambassadors in the Key Stage 2 Library on a Friday. To start with, this will be an opportunity for you to sit, relax and read your book in a calm environment during the lunchtime. The Reading Ambassadors have lots of ideas for this club, which they will develop over the term.

Reading for Pleasure
Thank you to everyone who has sent me photos this half term, given me recommendations and for generally being excited about books! Please continue to do this - I will be putting up more photos on our English board in school and I will speak with the Reading Ambassadors about what we can continue to do to keep this enthusiasm up.

Henry loves his 'Ultimate Football Heroes' books, which he has been reading at home.

Jak loves reading at bedtime. What a lovely way to relax before a good night's sleep.

If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
