Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

Well, the children have now completed a full week back at school and it is like they have never been away. Every child I have spoken to this week has told me how much they are enjoying being in their new year group.

Well done to those children who have not missed a day off school since we returned from the summer. You were rewarded with a special certificate today in recognition of this. Please keep up the good attendance- we will be having lots more incentives and prizes on offer for those of you who attend school every day!

It was great to see our families in school for our welcome meetings this week and at our ABC assembly this morning. Please note in your diaries that, this year, our Harvest Assembly and cake sale will take place in the afternoon as we will be holding a Macmillan Coffee ‘afternoon’ instead of a coffee morning on Friday 26th September from 2.15pm. More details about the event will be on next week’s newsletter, but you are all invited! Bake off details will also be included, so make sure you give it a read.

For details of events taking place next week and for news you need to be aware of from this week, please keep scrolling!

Happy Birthday to you...

Sending Birthday wishes to Sophie, Jaxon, Aubrey and Clara!

Please read carefully the Forest School kit list. We advise that years 1 & 2 can arrive in their forest school clothes and bring school uniform to change into after the session. Years 3,4,5 & 6 will wear school uniform as normal to school and bring their forest school clothes in a separate bag.

Please be aware that in some sessions, children will get wet and muddy therefore, please bring a separate coat for the session for your child to wear, keeping their school coat dry and clean for break and lunchtimes.

To participate in the session the following must be adhered to, strictly no denim or open toed shoes in any season this also includes crocs, long hair to be tied up, jewellery and earrings to be removed and finally NO school uniform to be worn to a Forest School session.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to me.

Many thanks

School Photographs

Monday 15th September is School Photograph Day!

Please note that we will only be doing in-school photographs of the children who attend Crestwood Park. These will include the class, individual and school sibling photos and will be taken during the school day. So no need to arrive any earlier than the usual times of 8:40 - 8:50am via normal route.

Pastoral Update

We hope you are all well and have had a lovely week.

Getting back into the routine of school can begin to become tricky as your little ones start to feel tired.  This week why not take a look at some helpful tips and resources to make morning routines predictable and fun.  Getting your children involved in some of their choices may help your morning run more smoothly as your children will feel more in control. Using a visual timetable can create independence, making your child feel confident and calmer.

We hope you find these resources useful. Have a lovely weekend and look after each other.  Lots of love the Pastoral team xxx
IMPORTANT ASTHMA INFORMATION
If your child is on our asthma register can you please make sure they have their inhaler and spacer in school. Please also label it clearly and make sure that it is in date. All inhalers are kept in our classroom back packs so that they are easily accessible throughout the school day.

By now, if your child hasn't recently been diagnosed you will have received a letter to update your child's care plan. We do this annually to ensure we have up to date information so that we can give your child the best care.

Thank you so much for your support, if you have any questions or worries please contact Sue Priest (01384) 818315 or email spriest@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk

Mrs Cadman's News!

Roald Dahl Day - 13th September

Every year, we celebrate the wonderful work of Roald Dahl.  He has inspired so many with his amazing stories over the years and continues to do so today!

Ask your child what stories they know that are written by Roald Dahl.

If you have any at home, spend some time reading over the weekend or even pop to the library to see what's available.

I have attached a few activity sheets below!

Have a lovely weekend.

If you have any photos that you would like to share on the newsletter, please send them to me at acadman@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk

Kindness in our Community

Kindness in our Community!

Alfie, Conor and Clara went litter picking over the weekend around the local area. Your hard work has made a big difference, not only does the area look cleaner and brighter, but you have also helped to protect wildlife and make the area clean for everyone to enjoy. Well done, keep up the brilliant work!

House Points

We now have 8 new House Captains who have completed their first job today of collecting the House Points from each class.

Look out for further details about the Year 6 job roles in the following weeks.

Meet the Staff!

Finally...

Wishing all of our families a weekend where our children have the opportunity for some fun, but also some rest, so that they come back fully recharged on Monday!

Please take a look at the newsletter titled "What's Going On In Our Community" for information regarding events in the local area!

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
