Welcome to our Newsletter
The first week back after the Easter break has flown. The children have not let the wet weather dampen their spirits and it has been great to see lots of smiles from them all when I have visited classrooms. All children have started to think about their Local Area- I have seen lots of map work taking place this week! The children’s developing knowledge of the local area will be showcased in our Local Area Study Exhibition due to take place later this term. Keep an eye on our school calendar for the date of this and lots of other events taking place this term.
As always, this newsletter is full of important information and items worth celebrating. Enjoy reading on!

BE A KIND SPARK!

This term we are focusing on being KIND and we would like to give the chance for more than just two children to earn a KIND SPARKS badge.
All children will be given an acts of kindness card.
It lists 6 acts of kindness that they can complete during this half term. The act of kindness must be proven with a signature from an adult.
We are also encouraging the children to send in any photos for the newsletter.
Any child who completes all 6 acts and has them signed will earn a Kind Sparks Badge, which will be awarded in the Achiever's Assembly at the end of term.
Looking After Our Wellbeing

BABY BOOM AT CRESTWOOD PARK!
Last term, we were delighted to announce that Ms Bullas was expecting a baby and that Mr Powell and his wife had welcomed a baby boy- Oliver- on the 16th March.
Well, we now have even more exciting baby news to share!
Miss Johnson is expecting her second child in September and Mrs Jeavons is expecting her second child in early October. I’m sure you will join us in wishing them both a happy and healthy pregnancy.
We can’t wait to welcome all of the new arrivals to our Crestwood Park Family!
We will give an update on our plans and how the posts will be covered whilst these staff are on maternity leave, later this term.

Celebrating Our Children's Work
This week, Reception have been learning all about Ramadan and Eid. They have really enjoyed this and have learnt lots of new things.
On Thursday Mrs Akthar showed them some pictures and videos of her Eid celebrations with her family. She brought in some special clothes to show them.
They then made a special Eid recipe using pastry, jam and strawberries.

Amazon Wish List

We are really grateful for any donation we receive and the little things really do go a long way!
Water Bottles
Please can children refrain from bringing in oversized bottles/containers into school. A bottle of with a capacity of 500ml is ideal.
The 'Stanley Cups' in particular are not acceptable in school due to their size and function. They are too big when placed on tables and when knocked over either leak or become damaged. I believe they are also rather an expensive item to be bringing into school.
Thank you for your support with this matter.

Finally...
It was nice to see the sun shining today after what has been rather a wet return to school!
Here's hoping you all have a lovely weekend and the sun continues to shine.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
