Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

Welcome to 2024 everyone! This is our first newsletter of the new year- a year we’re hoping will be as action packed and rewarding as the last. Every term at Crestwood Park is crammed full of events and this term, although short, will be no exception.

In the next few weeks, we will celebrate music and discover the talents of some of our children in our annual Talent Show! After the February half-term, we will once again support worthwhile events and causes- such as: World Book Day, Mother’s Day, World Downs Day and Muscular Dystrophy. Then the term will culminate with a celebration of 50 years of Crestwood Park- yes, the school really is that old!

So please keep reading the newsletter every week, so that you can stay fully informed about what has been happening in school and what is coming up!

Happy Birthday to you...

We would like to say a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to...Savannah, Sienna and Alfie who have celebrated his birthday this week or will be celebrating over the weekend!

Introducing Crestwood Park's Catering Team!

The new year marks a new era for our kitchen and catering team. We are now in complete charge of the catering service provided in school and would like to introduce you to our catering team. Mandy, Pat and Tonia prepare, cook and serve your children with their daily meals in school and we are delighted that they are now fully fledged, official members of our Crestwood Park Family!

Supporting Healthy Eating Choices at Crestwood Park

We are keen to provide our children with wholesome, healthy  and appetising meals each day. This week we have introduced a brand new salad bar to our lunchtime options. Children can select salad to accompany any of the meals on offer.

Our deserts are wide-ranging and fruit and yoghurts always feature. We hope that lots of our children are enjoying what is on offer. Please take a look at our menus on the teachers to parents app and website. If your child has never tried a school meal before, perhaps a new years resolution could be to do so!

If parents have any further suggestions for what we might include on our menu- please let us know.

Looking After Our Wellbeing

Happy New Year to you all! It has been so lovely to see everyone back in school and fantastic to hear their Christmas news.

This week we would like to keep you up to date.  Following assessments and various discussions we have identified children who would benefit from support.   Please check your children's bags as letters have now been sent out to inform parent/carers of children who will be receiving pastoral intervention. If we have not already spoken to you and you wish to talk about the support we provide or have a look at our room we will be more than happy to meet with you.  Please call the office or email spriest@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

We look forward to another term working with you and your beautiful children. Have a wonderful weekend, keep warm and safe.  Lots of love The Pastoral Team xxx

House Point Update

I am sure you are aware that one of the ways we reward our children in school is by awarding Housepoints.

These are for a range of reasons, usually linked to how well your children have done with their learning.

Children are given a coloured token to match their team colour. These are collected from classrooms at the end of every week and put into the tubes which you can view in our entrance.

So you know which team are in the lead, we will update you each week here in the newsletter!

Whose team are you on?

Times Table Rockstars - New Term...New Champions?

A new tournament begins today!

This time it will be each class against each other to see who can get the most correct answers.

So get practising to earn your class the extra playtime.

And remember to practise your personal targets to achieve your bronze and silver awards!

As I sign off this week, I’m amazed at how quickly the first week back has gone and as this the new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written, I sincerely hope we can make it a good one!

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
