Well, we made it! The spring term has ended and what a finale our final assembly of the term proved to be.

I was extremely proud this morning in our Easter Celebration Assembly to be able to hand out a range of awards and certificates in recognition of pupil's achievements, attendance and respectfulness. To also witness such great singing- everyone certainly sang their hearts out- was the icing on the cake!

Infact, there have been so many proud moments recently in school to celebrate, and so much for us to be thankful for- keep scrolling to find out more!

Football News

Year 5 & 6 Vs Blandford Mere Primary School

Very competitive match from the off. Both teams had lots of opportunities to score early on, both keepers from each side made it hard for anyone to score. Lots of great play at times and some lovely passing and moving from the midfield. We had 5 players making their first appearance for the school football team. Wollescote took the lead with a good passing and moving play. We had to rotate the squad to give each player an opportunity to play during the second half. Wollescote scored a second early on in the second half to make it 2-0.

Crestwood Park had lots of opportunities to scores some goals but their Goalkeeper was making it hard for us to score. Wollescote won the game 2-0. The school Sponsor Mike from sch.life chose the players of the match: Rosie the school goalkeeper made some amazing saves and showed some excellent catching and distribution skills and kept us in the match at times - our very own Mary Earps. Second player of the match was Esme. WOW. Esme started in year 5 as a goalkeeper but wanted to try her skills outfield in defence, and what a great choice. Esme also kept us in the game showing great defensive knowledge being first to every ball, travelled and dribbling the ball out of defence to start attacks, but also making tackles Van Dijk would be proud off.

Yr 3 & 4 match Vs Wollescote Primary School

We had 2 fixtures to play on the Friday morning. 2 teams were selected.
1st fixture for Crestwood Park we started very strong with our defence dealing with every attack from the opposition, we attacked well with some very good play from our attacking front 3. Crestwood Park won the first match 3-0 with William in year 3 putting in a wonderful defensive performance taking player of the match from our school sponsor sch.life.

2nd Fixture. This match was very even with lots of battles all across the pitch. At times this game was competitive and both teams had a lot of opportunities. Crestwood Park lost the game in the last 5 mins of play to play with the opposite striker scoring with 2 late goals meaning Crestwood Park lost the 2nd fixture 6-4. Player of the match chosen from our sponsor sch.life was Hassan. What a player we have for the future; beautiful first touch, dribbling, strength and also loves a goal.

Amazing Minority Instrument Project – 9 free instrumental lessons!

Dear Parent/Carer,

Starting after Easter 2025 we have an amazing opportunity for any KS 2 pupil to learn what are known as minority instruments. These are instruments usually found in an orchestra that are dwindling in number – cello, double bass, oboe, bassoon, euphonium and tuba.

Over the next 9 weeks we will run beginner group lessons on a Monday or Tuesday at our music base at Cable Plaza on the Waterfront near Merry Hill. Each lesson will last for 25 minutes. The children will all be beginner students and learn how to play a musical instrument in a fun, relaxed group environment. All the instruments will be provided, and they will be able to bring their instrument home every week to allow them to practice and try new things!

Sessions will take place on the days and times below, starting from the week beginning 28th April. Spaces will be limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. To take up this fantastic offer please click on this link and complete the necessary information.

We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
