Welcome to our Newsletter
Well, we’re 6 weeks into this academic year and we have managed to tick off many achievements and events. Class Welcome Meetings, ABC Assemblies, Bake Off, Macmillan Coffee Afternoon and Parents Evening have all proven successful.
Apologies that I was getting a little ahead of myself last week when I talked about School Council elections. They are actually taking place next week, so successful candidates will be announced then!
We still have plenty to look forward to in the Autumn term, such as our Witches and Wonder Disco, Science Day and then a whole host of Christmas themed events. Keep checking the school calendar for what is coming up!
Lots to celebrate in this week’s newsletter. We have received a generous donation and been blown away by your support of our Book fair!

Don't forget swimming sessions are taking place for Year 6 children every Tuesday morning up until October Half Term.

Please read carefully the Forest School kit list. We advise that years 1 & 2 can arrive in their forest school clothes and bring school uniform to change into after the session. Years 3,4,5 & 6 will wear school uniform as normal to school and bring their forest school clothes in a separate bag.
Please be aware that in some sessions, children will get wet and muddy therefore, please bring a separate coat for the session for your child to wear, keeping their school coat dry and clean for break and lunchtimes.
To participate in the session the following must be adhered to, strictly no denim or open toed shoes in any season this also includes crocs, long hair to be tied up, jewellery and earrings to be removed and finally NO school uniform to be worn to a Forest School session.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to me.
Many thanks

A Very Generous Donation

We would like to say a huge thank you to Steel & Alloy Gonvarri Industries, for their incredibly generous donation they have made to the school.
They have gifted school with £1000 - which we will be putting towards our new playground equipment.
Keep a look out for our new equipment coming soon!
Pastoral Update
Mrs Cadman's News!

Wow - A huge thank you to all those families who spent money at the Book Fair on Parents' Evening.
Because of your generosity, school will be receiving £700 worth of rewards from Scholastics to spend on books for the children.
I will be asking classes to choose some books to add to their libraries over the next few weeks and I will look forward to sharing these with the children as soon as they arrive.
Once again, thank you.
Mrs Cadman

Thinking of having a sort out over the half term before Christmas?
We have signed up to the Rags2Riches4Schools recycling scheme, to help others around the world benefit from our good quality unwanted clothes and shoes. The money we raise from every kilo of clothes we collect will go towards our school and we would be most grateful if you could help us with this challenge at home.
Bags of clothes can be handed in to the school office FROM MONDAY 3rd NOVEMBER due to storage. The bags are being collected on WEDNESDAY 5th NOVEMBER so please do not bring in bags later than this date.
Please help us to help others and raise much needed funds for our school.
Thank you for your continuing support.

Finally...
How great that our school has such a love of reading and the support of our families at this week's Book Fair means we can buy even more books for school.
I hope you all enjoy reading the books you purchased this weekend.
In the words of JK Rowling...
"I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book."
Please take a look at the newsletter titled "What's Going On In Our Community" for information regarding events in the local area!
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
