Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

Well, who would have thought I'd be writing this opening surrounded by a clear blue sky! The weather can certainly present challenges. Please be assured that a late decision to close yesterday and an early decision to close today were both made with the best of intentions and after lots of deliberation. Feedback was listened to from parents, and official sources, to ensure that the safety of all was always at the forefront of the decision being made. I am always keen to focus on the positives and it has been great that our children have engaged with both remote and outdoor learning during our snow days. Some of these experiences have been shared in this newsletter and as always it is packed full of celebrations, congratulations and key information. So, read on ...

SNOW DAYS MARCH 2023!

A message from the Pastoral Team...

A massive congratulations to year 4 for being some of the first children to rise to our wellbeing challenge. Leah and Daisy both learnt something new. Leah shared with Mrs Kennedy that she had learnt to make loom band bracelets. Although Daisy is recovering at home, she has made cheerleader pom poms and has helped to paint a decorative tree on her bedroom wall with a sponge technique. Well done to you both.

We hope you all enjoyed the snow this week, maybe you made your first snowman or walked in the snow? Having fun has positive biological effect on our bodies, it releases dopamine which makes us feel good, so well done for supporting your wellbeing.

Now for this week's challenge, we are continuing with learning something new.

See if you can learn to say 'hello' in as many different languages as you can.  Aim for 5, we will be really impressed if you can share them with us.  Alternatively, learn a poem or nursery rhyme of your choice and share it with us.

Mrs Kennedy and Mrs Priest can't wait to see what you have learnt. House points and prizes for the first children to share them with us.

Have a lovely weekend, look after each other xxx

Art Competition

Do you love nature? Do you love to draw or paint? Well, why not combine the two! Our wonderful world is now showing signs of spring - daffodils, snowdrops and budding trees. Robins and squirrels busying themselves in the trees.

There will be a prize for the one that makes us smile the most! Please send your entries down to year 6.

Mrs Brierley and Mrs Akhtar can't wait to see your entries.
