Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our first Newsletter of Academic Year 2022/2023!

Today wasn't quite the way we expected to end our first week of the new school year. The day finished with a quiet and thoughtful assembly, marking the sad loss of our Queen, Elizabeth II. Throughout the day, children have been given the opportunity to talk to staff and each other about the news and at 12 noon we all watched the coverage of the 'ringing of the bells'. Your children have been wonderful; respectful, kind and caring- they are a credit to you all.

This week has been an exciting time for our newest Crestwood Parkers! Our new Reception children have been attending this week on a part time basis and for half of the class, today was the first time they had lunch at school! We hope the children and their families will soon feel part of our incredible school family.

As you know, Governors will soon be undertaking the recruitment process for our new Headteacher- this is an exciting time and we are keen for our children to share their views and ideas about what they want to see in a new Headteacher. Thankyou to those who have already completed the (very!) short questionnaire- if you haven't, it takes less than 5 minutes and can be accessed by clicking here. Please take 2 minutes to do this for us- thankyou.

Next Wednesday is School Photograph Day. As usual, we will be opening doors early so families with siblings not at Crestwood Park (i.e. nursery or secondary school) can have pictures taken with all the children together. If you have more than one child and they all attend Crestwood Park, their group and individual photos will be taken during the school day. We will send a message out on Monday or Tuesday confirming the start time for early opening but it's likely to be about 8am.
