Welcome to our Newsletter

It has been great to welcome the children back after the half term break and we have lots to look forward to this term.

Our first exciting event is that work has begun this week to install our new outdoor play equipment.

Our ‘Treetops’ structure and cottage are taking shape!

Thank you for your support in using just the main gate to enter and exit school whilst the work is completed. This project has been made possible partly due to funds raised from events such as: our Christmas Market, Summer Fun, our Get Together Picnic, Discos and the various raffles held throughout the year. If you have supported these fundraising events, thank you.

I hope you agree that the funds are being put to good use. There will be a wheelchair accessible section and a sensory space so ALL children will get the opportunity to use it once it is completed, not just those in Key stage 1.

🔵🟡🟠 Children in Need 2025! 🔴🟣🟢

On Friday 14th November it is Children in Need! To raise money for the cause, School Councillors have decided that on that day, children can donate £1 to come to school dressed in their pyjamas or other comfy clothes. Throughout the week, we will also be participating in the 'Strictly 25-Step Dance Challenge', learning five steps each day which we will bring together into a routine as a school on Friday afternoon. Please remember that even if they are wearing pyjamas, children need to be dressed appropriately for a school day with suitable outdoor shoes and a coat. Many thanks for your support.

Change of date!

As World Diabetes Day and Children in Need fall on the same day, this year, we will now mark World Diabetes Day in school on Friday 21st November.

Children are invited to wear BLUE and purchase a raffle ticket on the day to win a ‘Blue themed hamper!'

Isabella and Heidi, from year 5, will be selling raffle tickets before and after school on this Friday.

If you have any outstanding balances for School Dinners, Tuck & Drinks. Please make sure these are paid on the T2P app to clear any arrears. These will appear under the 'payments' tab.

Any issues with your app please get in touch with the School Office.

Thank you!

🚗 REMINDER TO ALL PARENTS! 🚗

Please be mindful of where you are parking your vehicles during school drop off/pick up. Please park safely in the streets surrounding our school. Avoid blocking pavements, driveways, crossings or residents' entrances. Always park legally and avoid double parking. Ensure there is enough room for pushchairs, wheelchairs and emergency services to fit through if needed.

Pastoral Update

Welcome back to a new exciting term, we hope you are all well and have enjoyed the break.

This week we would like to share a few helpful tips to support your child when they come home from school.  Children experience many emotions throughout the day, they become tired towards the end of a school day and release their emotions when they arrive home.  This is because you are their safe space where you give them unconditional love.

"Picture the scene: your child comes out of school and the teacher says they’ve behaved like the perfect child all day, but the moment you get home they have a complete meltdown. Your child screams, shouts, lashes out, sulks or generally acts in an unruly manner." Quote taken from the BBC.

Please open the link to find some ideas to support your child.

Thank you for taking the time to read our section of the newsletter, we hope you find it useful.  Look after each other, lots of love The Pastoral Team xxx

Mrs Cadman's News!

Welcome back, I hope you had a fantastic half term.

Well done to those children who took part in my poetry competition.

I had two fantastic poems, one from Hallie and one from Mia - prizes will be given out in my assembly next week.

It was lovely to receive a photo of Alex at the library - he is really enjoying his reading at the moment.

Wonderful news as well from Eva - who has read all the selection of Wimpy Kids book throughout October - AMAZING!

Ada and Eve discovered The Town of Books in Hay-On-Wye - definitely a place I now need to visit!

We have bought new books for the library, using the rewards from the book fair - I will be sharing these with the children next week and our English Ambassadors will be sorting them out ready to be placed on the shelves.

Rotary Club Competitions

Each year we invite children to enter the Rotary Club competitions.

The theme is HAPPINESS IN NATURE

We will be completing a writing competition for this in school time.

The art competition and photography competition, we ask that you have a go at these at home.  You can then submit the entries in at school and we will send them off to be part of the competition.

All the information is below.

If you have any further questions, please email Mrs Cadman - acadman@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk

House Points

It is very close at the moment with the house points......

Please read carefully the Forest School kit list. We advise that years 1 & 2 can arrive in their forest school clothes and bring school uniform to change into after the session. Years 3,4,5 & 6 will wear school uniform as normal to school and bring their forest school clothes in a separate bag.

Please be aware that in some sessions, children will get wet and muddy therefore, please bring a separate coat for the session for your child to wear, keeping their school coat dry and clean for break and lunchtimes.

To participate in the session the following must be adhered to, strictly no denim or open toed shoes in any season this also includes crocs, long hair to be tied up, jewellery and earrings to be removed and finally NO school uniform to be worn to a Forest School session.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to me.

Many thanks

Anyone can have the dreaded... head lice.

We have had a donation of Full Marks head lice treatments. If you or your child/children are unfortunate enough to get them, please contact spriest@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk and I will arrange for you to collect a bottle from the school office or call (01384) 818315

Finally...

Thank you to Year 3 who led a poignant assembly this morning to mark Remembrance Day.

My sign off this week pays tribute to those who gave so much for the peace we enjoy today.

May your weekend be filled with reflection, gratitude and quiet moments with those who matter most.
