Welcome to our Newsletter
Well, this week’s highlight was certainly World Book Day! Such an amazing effort from everyone and the day proved such a success, as I’m sure you’ll see from the information and photographs contained in today’s newsletter.
The year 5 assembly this morning was full of Geography facts, a Science experiment and some lovely singing. We were certainly presented with lots of information about mountains and volcanoes! Thanks to the year 5 team of children and adults for doing such a great job.
Next week is Design and Technology week in school, so be sure to ask your children what their project is!
We will also be continuing to support our local charities. On Friday the Food Bank will be collecting donations from school, so if you are able to send in a donation, it would be very much appreciated.
Happy Birthday to you...

Sending Birthday wishes to Daisy, Delilah, Rose and Mabel who have celebrated their birthdays this week or will be celebrating their birthday over the weekend.

World Book Day 2025
World Book Day is a day to celebrate reading - something which we celebrate daily at Crestwood Park and Thursday really was a celebration! We started with an assembly, where children showed off their outfits and the Reading Ambassadors explained the various activities for the day. Throughout the day, children took part in a range of activities including: a book hunt to find the reading quote 'Reading is an adventure that never ends'; a chance to read in the Cosy Cave; time to decorate their classroom door; a visit from a different teacher for story time; and lots more.
Reading Ambassadors chose best dressed in each class - and even chose two teachers who impressed them the most with their outfits. Well done to Miss Obertelli (Winnie the Pooh) and Mr Powell (Boathook man from the Year 5 class reader). Thank you to all parents who supported the day by organising outfits and sending in photographs of your children reading 'their way'.
The Reading Ambassadors also introduced a competition; see details below.
Thanks again for all your support - don't forget to spend your £1 WBD tokens.

Story in a Box - COMPETITION

Crestwood Park Garden!
As part of our drive to be more sustainable, we are going to start a school garden. The children will be getting hands on lessons about growing fruits, vegetables, herbs. As well as learning about where their food comes from, there are huge benefits for children’s health and well-being from being outdoors and supporting nature.
To get us up and running, we would like to ask for donations of any unused garden tools that are still in good contention. We would greatly appreciate any:
- Spades
- Garden forks
- Seed trays
- Watering cans
- Trowels
If you have any of these that you would be able to donate could they please be brought to school for Monday 17th March.
Many thanks,
Mr Powell
