Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

How appropriate our banner picture is this week! The range of colourful donations brought in today will certainly ensure we have some wonderful hampers for our rainbow raffle this year.

The weather too has been varied and lots of us have been caught out by some sharp showers.

Safety is a high priority in school and in this final term, we are placing an extra emphasis on our children being SAFE Sparks.

If nothing else, the rain has helped to give our school garden the watering it needs!

For updates on all of the above, and more, please keep reading...

Happy Birthday to you...

Thanks to our Year 6 pupils who helped to load the van.

Our Unpredictable Weather

With our British weather being so unpredictable, please always send in a waterproof coat for your child to wear.

Please no umbrellas.  If you use these when walking to and from school, please take them back with you, as we don't want the children to be using them during break and lunchtimes.

Our SPARKS!

The focus for this term is... SAFE!

Children will be trying to earn 10 SAFE points in a number of ways.

These include -

  • Tuck in chairs and sit on chair properly.
  • Sit still and calmly when eating lunch- do not move around with food in your mouth.
  • Eat toast and drink milkshakes in a safe space- sitting down outside.
  • Carry scissors the safe way.
  • Use all equipment in the way you have been shown
  • Make sure you remain in sight of an adult outside at all times.
  • Report any spillages/hazards that you see in school.
  • Play games safely and always tidy equipment away.
  • Follow instructions when playing on any equipment.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Wear sunscreen or a cap on sunny days.
  • On school trips, follow all the safety rules given to you by the adults.
  • Walk sensibly around the school building.
  • If you see a visitor/stranger who is not wearing a lanyard, tell an adult.

Garden Update

Pastoral Update

🌷🌼🌸THE PASTORAL TEAM NEED YOUR HELP! 🌷🌼🌸

We hope you have all had a lovely week, just a reminder that we are taking part in the Eco Flower Festival at Holy Trinity Church, Wordsley.

HOLY TRINITY ECO FLOWER FESTIVAL - from 13th to 15th June 2025

As we're coming up to half term, we're thinking you might have a little time to spare 🙂 This year we are so proud to be taking part in the Eco Flower festival.   Anyone can take part... children, mums, dads, grandparents, aunties and uncles anyone who is creative and talented.

Whilst being creative you can also be looking after our world by  creating  flowers from recycled materials, i.e. plastic bottles, cups, plastic or wooden spoons, old magazines, kitchen roll holders, material from old clothes, wool etc.  Basically anything that can be reused/recycled. These will then be put together for a collective piece to be displayed in the church from 13th June.

Please can we ask that any of your creations are brought into school by 9th June so that we can put them all together to make a collective piece.

We hope Crestwood Parks display will wow our local community!  Can't wait to see your beautiful creations.

Stay safe and look after each other, lots of love The Pastoral Team xxx💚

Mrs Cadman's English News

In assembly this week, I read the children 'The Bee Who Loved Words'.

The children enjoyed the story of Persephone who knew all about words having POWER!

My challenge is for the children to find a word that they think has POWER (this could be a favourite word) and tell me about it next week.

I look forward to bee-ing bombarded with powerful words next week.

A message from Mr Powell!

PE Superstars!

Each week, during PE lessons, Mr Barnett will be awarding a PE star for each class.

Each child will be presented with a trophy.

Key Stage 1 will have a photo displayed in the classroom and Key Stage 2 will be able to have the trophy on their table for the week.

Take a look at the PE stars for this week: Maisie, Maya, Bailey, Ronnie, Rose, Baani and Daniel.

Rags 2 Riches 4 Schools Clothing Collection

Thinking of having a sort out over the half term?

We have signed up to the Rags2Riches4Schools recycling scheme, to help others around the world benefit from our good quality unwanted clothes and shoes. The money we raise from every kilo of clothes we collect will go towards our school and we would be most grateful if you could help us with this challenge at home.

Bags of clothes can be handed in to the school office FROM MONDAY 9th JUNE due to storage. The bags are being collected on THURSDAY 12TH JUNE so please do not bring in bags later than this date.

Please help us to help others and raise much needed funds for our school.

Thank you for your continuing support.

What's Going on in our Community

Events that may be of interest to you and your families.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
