Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

We have not let the wet weather dampen our spirits this week. The school came alive on Wednesday for Music Day. Each class celebrated the work of a different musician, and we ended the day with some wonderful singing. Ask your children who they were learning about and which song they performed.

Next week is the last before the half term break, so we will be awarding our AWARE SPARKS star badges in the Achievers Assembly on Thursday morning. Please remember that school is closed on Friday 13th for an INSET Day.

To be an AWARE SPARK, the children have been set 10 eco-challenges. Some of these have been completed in school, but some do rely on support from home. To check out what these are, please refer to the poster displayed in this newsletter.

It would be great if you could all go for a walk, bike ride or on a litter pick this weekend!

Look at the fantastic attendance for this week. WELL DONE everyone, your commitment to being at School every day makes a real difference, keep it up! 💜

Today (06/02/26) there were only 2 children absent out of the whole school, that is amazing!

Mrs Kennedy has promised if we can get 100% attendance for the whole school for a day she will give us a TREAT! 😍

Thank you for all your generous donations.

We have raised an amazing £199 which we will be donating to Fereday's First Response - who kindly donated a Bleed Control Kit to our school.

Today, Eve and Ashleigh visited The Crestwood School to take part in a Transition Conference.

They got to share their views on transition; their worries and concerns about the move from primary school to secondary school.

The girls spoke in front of a room full of adults - I was very proud of them.

The adults will work together to see how we can make the transition more successful so that all child feel a sense of belonging.

Well done girls.

A big thank you to Millie's Dad for sending us images he has taken of the birds on their estate. Take a look at the pictures below. There's an incredible variety of birds - some of these were shot in their back garden behind the Crestwood pub, but most of them shot on the path down the side of the quarry, along the stream.

How amazing to see, especially as the children have been learning about the RSPB birdwatch to work towards their 'AWARE' sparks!

Pastoral Update

We hope you are all well and have had a lovely week.

Next week is Children's Mental Health Week 2026 which takes place from 9-15 February.
This year's theme is 'This is My Place', which is organised by children's mental health charity Place2Be. It's aim is to support the systems around children and young people to help them feel that they belong.
Creating a sense of belonging is so important for everyone. We have shared a resource so that you can look at different kinds of mental health and ways to support your child with a sense of belonging.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
