Maths

Daily Maths task!

This week you will be revisiting rounding numbers. We covered this all the way back in October. Let's see what you can remember.

Below I have linked a powerpoint for each challenge. Follow the powerpoint through and write the answer to your questions on paper.

Choose your own challenge - BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD

There is no need to print off the sheets. You can just write the answer out onto a piece of paper. You can take pictures of your work or produce a word document on the computer with your answers on and send them over to my email.

English

SPAG

For our Grammar and Punctuation work, we will be using our usual Classroom Secrets sheets.

Just a reminder of the different pages (don't feel you have to do it all - remember to pick the level that is suitable for you!)

The Varied Fluency worksheet is to practise the skill.

D is for Developing - give this sheet a try if you're not sure on the subject.

E is for Expected - give this sheet a try if you feel confident with the subject.

GD is for Greater Depth - give this sheet ago if you want to challenge yourself.

Using Dashes to Indicate Parenthesis

Work your way through the powerpoint first before you attempt the worksheet.

Spellings

Here are the Spelling word lists for Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and 6.

Challenge yourself to practise 10 a day.  You can practise using Look, Cover, Write, Check and then challenge yourself to include them in a paragraph.

I shall set a spelling task on Purple Mash on Mondays and Wednesday  - this will include words from previous years, words with certain patterns and words I feel that you need to learn.

Writing

Hello Year 5!

I would like you to follow the prompts on the worksheet below and write a description about the man on the moon.

Can you include the words beside the picture in your writing.

Curriculum - Geography- Raging Rivers

Raging Rivers

Today I would like you to look at the features of a river.

Fristly, watch the videos linked below explaining the features of the river.

Next, look at the photo pack of the different features of the river. Look at the differences in how they look on the pictures, what do you notice?

Finally, complete the worksheet. Cut out the features slips and then add them to the diargram of the river. If you are unable to print it you can draw the diagram out on paper and label.
