Our Maths Curriculum Vision
At Crestwood Park Primary School, our maths curriculum is designed to provide children maths skills that will provide a foundation for their next stage in their education as well as life after that. Teachers plan and deliver lessons that allow all children to make progress and will use a range of strategies to make the lessons interactive, engaging and accessible for all.
Our children develop key knowledge of maths facts and methods through carefully sequenced lessons. Confidence and positive attitudes are nurtured through being successful within the maths curriculum and acquiring core knowledge.
Our mathematics teaching follows the national curriculum using the long and medium-term planning provided by the White-Rose Maths. When consolidation or adaptions are needed, we utilise other quality resources to support pupil’s learning. This ensures that all pupils can access a maths curriculum that enables them to reach their potential.
Our curriculum offer is supported with a focus on developing life skills. Children will leave Crestwood Park with an understanding of money and a knowledge of how mathematics can lead to a wide range of exciting opportunities later in life.
