Letter To Parents Regarding Head Teacher Transition

Good morning Parents and Families of Crestwood Park,

As we draw close to the end of term, we take this opportunity to wish Mrs Cooper all the best in her future, as she moves on to serve another school as Headteacher. We remain thankful for her hard work and dedication, and for shaping this wonderful school where our children are not only educated but learn to thrive. We are in no doubt that Mrs Cooper will be deeply missed, and that your children will (if not already) make sure she is made aware of how much she is cared for.

With Mrs Cooper leaving at Christmas, we appreciate that there may be some questions asked about what happens next, and so this communication is to inform all parents of the next steps the school will be taking.

For the next two terms (Spring Term and Summer Term 2023) there will be an Acting Up Process which will see the current Senior Leadership Team stepping into the roles of Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher(s). Mrs Kennedy (currently the Deputy Headteacher) will become the Headteacher and given the positive impact Mrs Kennedy already makes in the life of Crestwood Park, we are in no doubt that she will continue to ensure that the school thrives for the next two terms.

In addition, Mrs Cadman (KS2 Lead and Year 6 Teacher), Ms Bullas (KS1 Lead and Reception Teacher) and Miss Johnson (SENCO) will share the responsibilities of Deputy Headteacher. Their commitment to the leadership of the school, and the wellbeing of all pupils, will ensure the smooth running of the school.

There is a recruitment process in place and is now live (therefore the details that can be shared are limited), however, the aim of the Governing Board is to have an appointed Full Time Headteacher that will start in the Autumn Term (September 2023).

A priority of the school is to ensure our children remain unaware of significant change, and it is felt that the process outlined above, is a positive step to ensuring that our children will continue to have the best experience whilst at Crestwood Park.

It goes without saying, but we would ask that all Parents continue to offer their support and co-operation during this transition. If there are any concerns, we would ask that you contact the school, who can then direct you to the best person to speak to.

I wish you all the very best over the Christmas and New Year period, stay safe and enjoy time with families and friends.

Yours Sincerely

Joshua Davies
