The Anti-Bullying Squad
Who We Are
We are the year 6 anti-bullying squad! We will always try and help you.
We are around the school to help anyone with any friendship problems, if children want any help or advice, if they feel like they are being bullied or if they think they have seen bullying in our school. We hold meetings with the help of Mrs Snape to discuss how we can make sure everyone in school feels safe and secure.
In our meetings we plan a termly event for the whole school to take part in. The events have a variety of different objectives such as helping to inform children of what bullying is and how we can tackle it together and the children understanding how to look after their well-being mentally and physically.
Meet the squad...

Our Aim
Our aim is to effectively tackle bullying behaviour that takes place in our school. We want our school to always be a kind and safe environment where children feel comfortable and confident to be themselves.
What Is Bullying?
A bully is someone who hurts another person more than once, by using behaviour which is meant to scare, hurt or upset that person, even when they tell them to stop or show they are upset.
At our school, we use the word 'STOP' to identify bullying:

Bullying is usually defined as behaviour that is:
- repeated
- intended to hurt someone either physically or emotionally
- often aimed at certain groups, for example because of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation
It takes many forms and can include:
- physical assault
- teasing
- making threats
- name calling
- cyberbullying - bullying via mobile phone or online (for example email, social networks and instant messenger)
Some forms of bullying are illegal and should be reported to the police. These include:

- repeated harassment or intimidation, for example name calling, threats and abusive phone calls, emails or text messages
- hate crimes
