WELLBEING...

Welcome back to school after what we hope was a fun but relaxing break. We are delighted to see all our children back in school looking smart and eager to learn. We would also like to welcome new pupils in Reception and other year groups (and their families) to the Crestwood Park family.

Please look out for the flyer coming out from the Pastoral Team soon!

School Meal Price Increase...

Just a quick reminder that school meal prices have increased slightly to £2.40 - this took effect from the 2nd September 2019, thank-you.

Year 3 Swimming...

Letters have been sent out this week via the children with regards to swimming lessons at Crestwood School - as advised previously, swimming is a National Curriculum requirement; lessons commence on Tuesday 10th September - please refer to the letter for further details.

Year 3 Cornet Lessons...

Please look out for a letter detailing information with regards to Cornet Lessons for our Year 3 children, which forms part of their music curriculum.  Our Music Co-ordinator has arranged for the lessons to commence on the 12th September and they will take place in school during the day - there is no cost to families. We are sure the childen will enjoy this musical experience.

Year 6 visit to Dudley College...

To complement Year 6's theme work, they will be visiting an exhibition on the life of Anne Frank, which is currently being held at Dudley College.  The children will be visiting the exhibition for part of the day on Tuesday 10th September. Children will need to come in to school as normal, in uniform and they will have lunch at school also. A letter has been sent out via the Year 6 children this week.

After-school clubs for the new term...

Our Sports Coach, Mr Barnett has been working on new activities and initiatives for the forthcoming term; letters have been sent out this week via the children detailing more exciting after-school clubs on offer - see below for a brief list of clubs...

- Tuesday's Years 1 and 2 Football Club from 3:15pm - 4:15pm

- Wednesday's KS2 Tag-Rugby from 3:15pm - 4:15pm

- Thursday's Running / Cross Country club from 3:15pm - 4:00pm.

Parent Meetings...

We hope your children are settling into the new term. In order for you to gain key information regarding your child's new class, we have arranged for each class to hold a meeting for parents.  A letter detailing the purpose of the meetings and key dates has been sent out via the children this week; simply note down the date relevant to your child's year group and turn up on the day. Please note the meetings will take place after school. Thank-you in advance for your participation.

Uniform!

The children all look fantastic in their uniforms! We want to say a huge 'thank you' for supporting our uniform policy and sticking to our guidelines. We are very proud of our children and our school and love to see them all wearing their uniform with pride. Thankyou- your support with this is very much appreciated.

Welcome back from the Pastoral Team...

A big welcome back to school from The Pastoral Team. We hope you have all had a lovely holiday and are returning fit and well.  Just to let all parents/carers know that "Little Buddy" groups will start back up week beginning 23rd September.  Parents/carers will be notified if their child will be invited to take part in a group so please check your child's bag for letters.  This allows The Pastoral Team to support your children with their transition into their new year group.  Should you wish to contact us please either ring the office and leave a message or pop into school to arrange for a chat.  We will aim to get back to you the same day.  Thank-you for all your support.

Our School Website

You may have spotted that some details are yet to be updated on our website. We aim to have all key information and dates on the site by the end of next week. Keep your eyes peeled for a 'new look' website and additional pages coming soon!

Appeal for United Hands - The Saleem Foundation...

We would like to further appeal for donations for The Saleem Foundation (in partnership with Lesley Care Packages) who are working on an initiative known as "UNITED HANDS"; we wish to support this worthy cause for the Homeless by receiving donations of socks, underwear (in clean condition), toothbrush, toothpaste, deodrant and facial wipes (new and unused).  In addition, donations of bottles of water, breakfast bars, biscuits, crisps and chocolate bars would be fantastic. We would greatly appreciate any donations but would request that the any 'best before' dates are after the end of November, as this is a three month campaign for National Homeless Awareness Day on the 10th October. All donated items will be collected from school during the last week of September - thank-you for your ongoing support.

(Almost) Free to a good home... 2 seater sofa!

We have a 2 seater sofa (brown, leather look), that is in need of a new home. It is in good condition apart from some pen marks on one arm (removable with a bit of a scrub!). If you would like it, or know of someone who would, and can collect from school then you are very welcome to it. (If you could make a very small donation to our school fund, that would be even better!) Please speak to Mrs Hughes or Mrs Willetts in the office if you are interested.
