WELLBEING

Work to install the mile track and also improve the surfacing around the play equipement (outside the Year 3 classroom) begins on Tuesday next week. You will notice plenty of activity during this time and we are sure our children will enjoy watching the transformations!

Obviously, during this time the health and safety of our pupils is our priority and so certain parts of the playgrounds and field will be fenced off at different times. Please support us in reminding your children how to keep safe around construction areas. Thank you for your understanding and support...we will keep you updated as work progresses!

Reading

Ameliya Y1 - "This is the bear"...
You must read 'This is the bear' because it will make you smile! It is about a bear that goes on an adventure.

After-school club update

Letters have been sent out via children in years 1-6 this week for our exciting fun and energetic after-school club "Invasion Games", which starts on Tuesday 10th March from 3:15pm - 4:15pm - please refer to the letter for further information. Should your child be interested, please return the slip and money to school as soon as possible, thank-you.

WOW to World Book Day

What a wonderful World Book day we had here at Crestwood Park - there were lots of activities and reading sessions going on around school!  We cannot thank you enough for your support in helping your children in dressing-up in such spectacular costumes - everyone (including staff who always embrace the opportunity of dressing up!) looked absolutely fabulous.

Mothers Day Assembly

You will shortly be receiving a flier containing your Mother’s Day tickets for the morning assembly on Friday 20th March. Following the assembly you will be able to enjoy a cup of tea and then visit your children in classrooms to decorate a cake!

An egg-citing time ahead for Easter

We will be holding a non-uniform day on Thursday 26th March and children will be asked to bring in a chocolate egg on this day. Instead of the Easter Bonnet parade, children will decorate an egg in school and these will be displayed at our Easter Service.

As an act of goodwill, the chocolate eggs will then be donated to the children’s ward of our local hospital. This year, the staff will provide the eggs to be used in our traditional school raffle.

The traditional Easter service will be the following week on Friday 3rd April.

Invite to Parents - Health Education

From September 2020, all primary age children will be taught Relationships and Health Education (which the Government have decided to make as a compulsory subject) - in view of this Mrs Cooper and Mrs Kennedy have sent a letter out via the children this week inviting parents to join them at a Forum to discuss in more detail.  The forum will take place on Thursday 19th March at 5:30pm.  Please look out for the letter for further information and return the slip should you wish to attend, thank-you.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children’s best interests. We work to ensure our children our safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
