The Great Get Together

We would like to extend a big "Thank You" to all who part in our tribute picnic in honour of Jo Cox. This really did prove her theory that "We have more in common than that which divides us". The weather was kind to us and everyone appeared to have a good time. Our local MP, Mike Wood joined us as did our Chair of Governors, Mrs Morgan.

We ran our Bottle Tombola and Crestwood Cup stalls at this event and are pleased to tell you that school fund was swelled by over £220 by these two ventures. Thank you again for your support.

Summer Fun Week

Our Summer Fun Week has been a huge success! From craft to beat the goalie. From Bouncy Castle to our Photo Booth, children have joined in with great gusto and tell us that 'we loved It!'. There were so many wonderful photos that those who ordered a photo will have noticed that Mrs Cooper has sent all photos taken as she found it difficult to choose just one. If you didn't choose to have a photo, but have seen them in the entrance hall on the TV screen, pop in with your £1:00 and Mrs Cooper will send it to you. Grateful thanks to all staff who stayed until 5pm so that children could enjoy everything on offer, to the lovely ladies in our school kitchen who came back each day to cook and serve tea and to you - our parents and friends for your wonderful support. We will let you know next week how much we have raised for our school fund from this venture.

This event has been so well received, it is definitely something we will be building on next year....... what else can we include? If you have any ideas please tell one of our Parent Voice members who will pass on your thoughts or just jot it down and leave at the school office. A HUGE THANK YOU to the Parent Voice mums who have managed to get such wonderful prizes for our raffle. We will let you know a grand total shortly.

Reports and Open Evening

Parents were informed this week about the Open Evening which takes place next Thursday, 6th July from 4:30 to 7:30pm for you to view all the work done by children in their current class. Please be aware that doors will close at 7pm so that staff are able to go home at a reasonable time. In the foyer will be boards showing staffing and classroom arrangements for the 2017-18 academic year, please take time to look where your child's next classroom will be and who will be teaching them.

The final reports together with Year End Assessments will be sent home on Wednesday 5th with the exception of Year 6 whose reports will be ready on Friday 7th. The evening therefore will be on the basis of a short 'drop-in' session to briefly discuss your child's report with the teacher. If you need a more in depth conversation an appointment will need to be made with the relevant member of staff.

A Little Extra Fundraising

Over the next couple of weeks we will be doing a final fundraising push when small guessing games (with great prizes) will be going round the classes. We have various Treasure Hunt games which children can take part in and will let you know more about this during next week.

Reception, Year One and Year Two library/reading sessions

There will be no more library sessions for Key Stage One and Reception this term. They will recommence in the autumn , but might look a little different , so watch out for details in September.
