Thank you all for your generous donations. The Black Country Food Bank have asked us to pass on their thanks too. We hope you enjoyed our assembly led by our fabulous Year 6 children.

A heartfelt 'Thank You' to everyone

Mr and Mrs Tonks would like to pass on their thanks to everyone locally who helped out after Richard's accident. They were overwhelmed by the response, offering their time and snacks and drinks. Charlotte has said:

"We are blessed to be part of such a wonderful community"

You Tube Warning

We have been made aware of some very disturbing and inappropriate content in a few children's videos which are accessible via YouTube. The characters we have been told about are Peppa Pig and Postman Pat however we are sure there are more out there.

Please be extra vigilant and watchful over which sites and videos your children watch. It is all too easy to assume it must be safe because its a child's character in the film. It isn't always!

There is plenty of advice about keeping children safe online on the 'Keeping Children Safe' page of our website- it's worth a look!

Nasty Nits are here again......

It seems we are already experiencing problems, primarily in Key Stage Two, with headlice and nits. It is very difficult for us in school to control outbreaks without the help of our supportive parents. Could you all please check heads and if necessary treat. The most cost effective treatment is to wash the child's hair, apply conditioner and before washing out the conditioner, comb through with a fine toothed comb (nit comb). This should be done every couple of days if live lice have been found as the eggs they lay take only 48 hours to hatch.

Free combs are available from the school office and "Nitty gritty" combs are available to buy for £6.00. Remember - "there is no shame in finding headlice.... it is however shameful to do nothing about it".

Here is a very useful website for further information and help: http://www.onceaweektakeapeek.com/

Lunch boxes who have lost their way home....

We have already accumulated some lunch boxes and drinks bottles in the office which have been handed in from the lunchtime staff. If you are missing any items please pop in to see us.

Please, please, please label all your child's items, it makes life so much easier to locate the owner!

Well-Being!

Thank you so much to all the parents who have completed a Well-Being survey. By gathering your views, we are in the best position to support your children. The link is still available to use on the website so please do feel free to complete one if you would like to share your thoughts. (If you have a particular concern however, it is much better to talk to us directly as we cannot see who has written the comment and it's then difficult to deal with your concern.)

Can you help...?

As you will remember, we are working towards the Well-Being Award and we're being 'inspected' on the 17th October. During the day, we would like some parents to talk to the assessor about the work we do here to support emotional health and well-being. If you are interested and would be able to spare 30 mins during the day (most probably during the afternoon), please let Ms Bullas (Yr1), Mrs Priest (Pastoral Lead) or Mrs Cooper know. Alternatively, leave your name at the office and we will get in touch.

Request for Comics and Magazines

Mrs Priest has asked if you can pass on any comics and magazines that your children have finished with. These are for the quiet areas in school so can be for all age ranges Reception to Year 6. Please hand them in to class or the office. Thank you - your help is always appreciated.
