Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Weekly Newsletter!

Our Reception children provided a marvellous end to the week with their very first class assembly, all about the life cycle of a butterfly. We learnt lots about the different stages and thoroughly enjoyed the descriptions, the singing and the dancing- well done Team Reception- we are all very proud of you.

The last class assembly of the year marks the beginning of lots of other activities- remember- look at the calendar on the website to make sure you don't miss anything. Next Friday is the Local Area Study Exhibition in the hall- please see below for more details.

As we are experiencing changeable British summer weather, please continue to send your children with sun hats and wearing sun cream if warm, but also a raincoat! Also, please make sure all items of uniform are labelled- we're seeing lots of lost property again and we hate not being able to reunite jumpers and cardigans with their owners!

Local Area Study Exhibition next Friday

Next Friday (1st July) we will be holding our second Local Area Exhibition in the school hall. On that day, children are invited to dress up in the colours or themes of the Black Country Flag or something that is a bit more 'Peaky Blinders'! There's no pressure to wear anything other than uniform, so please don't worry if children prefer not to.

During the morning, children from all classes will get to experience the 'exhibition stands' from each year group and then in the afternoon, from 2pm-3pm, parents are invited to pop in and have a look at what the children have been learning about our amazing local area. There's no booking system for this, just turn up when it's convenient and enjoy chatting to representatives from each class, about our rich local history.

Get Together Picnic - Friday 8th July

A message from the Pastoral Team...

Hello everyone, the weeks are going by so quickly, we hope you are all well and enjoying the beautiful weather we’re having recently.

This week we are sharing a few links to family days out.

There are free events taking place at Wyre Forest for all the family and for those of you who would like to get out in the fresh air and boost your mental health during the day, there are guided walks at Baggeridge Country Park.

We hope you have a lovely weekend, look after each other xxx

Fitness Friday with Mr Barnett

Those Summer holidays aren't too far away now. Who wants to get fit?!...

Don't forget that Mr Barnett holds a fitness session on Friday mornings, just after children are dropped off.

We have a really good range of equipment for parents and family friends to use and is a lovely way to have a catch-up with other parents, whilst burning a few calories at the same time! No need to book, just turn up!

Next session will be - Friday 1st July

COVID Information for Parents

And finally,

We seem to be racing towards the end of term…and the end of another school year! This will be my seventh year at Crestwood Park and my fourth as Headteacher- the time has whizzed by and I have enjoyed every minute (even the challenging ones!) In the seven years at our wonderful school I have seen a whole cohort of children move through the year groups, some changes of staff and an Osfted inspection… not to mention heat waves, snow storms, gas leaks, power cuts and a pandemic!

Looking back on these years really makes me realise what the whole CPPS team have achieved together- we are all incredibly proud of our school. And so it is with a very heavy heart, I share the news that I will be moving on to another school at Christmas. I have very mixed emotions and I am not even thinking about what it will be like to not be here, but we have lots of work to do before then. So it is business as usual for the CPPS team; we will continue to keep looking for ways to improve and make sure we give your children-our children, the very best.

Take care all and have a lovely weekend.

Mrs Cooper

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children our safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
