Be the best you can be

English grammar, reading and spellings

Take a look at the English activities for today:

Spelling - Spot the mistake! Have a look at the first sheet only and correct the circled words. We will continue to practise the other sheets throughout the week and on Friday I will provide you with the answers to check your corrections.

Grammar - Continuing on from earlier in the week, today's grammar focuses upon correctly punctuating speech within our writing. Look at the examples before completing your task.

Reading - I've attached a Quiz for you to try which focuses upon the book Matilda. If you have not read this book, I recommend it! You could create your own quiz about a series of books you have read and we can share these when you are back at school.

Maths - fractions continued...

Continuing our work on fractions, today we look at subtracting fractions. Again, this skill is relatively easy as long as the denominators are the same! It gets trickier if the denominators do not match! Watch the video from White Rose before having a go yourself...

As always, Practise your times tables to improve your pace and recall of each table.

Curriculum study

To begin with, have a go at the map work quiz to see what you can remember...

Continuing on our Coastal work, I have attached some information about Coasts and how they can change with some photographs of Coasts around the UK.

I'd also like you to research and label the features of a coastline - I've attached the answers for you to check and I am trusting that you won't just copy them onto the sheet...

Finally, research and explain to me how caves, arches, stacks and stumps are formed and how these contribute to our changing coastlines.
