10th Year 3 Swimming at Crestwood School - details to follow...

WELLBEING...

We all hope you take the time over the six weeks to relax and enjoy your family time.  We hope the lovely summer weather returns and those of you that are off to warmer climes, we hope you enjoy the sunshine.

See you all in Septmebr with your batteries refreshed and recharged for another fantastic year at Crestwood Park.

"Time Lord" production Part II...

We truly do have some budding actors in the Crestwood Park family...our Key Stage 2 children provided a stunning performance again - thank-you to all of you who attended last Friday afternoon.  We were so proud off all the children and thank-you to everyone who worked behind the scenes.

Year 6 Leavers Party...

What a fabulous evening our super Year 6 children had on Wednesday evening at their Leaver's Party - they enjoyed various organised activities including skittles, table-tennis, tennis, fun-inflatables and a disco dance-off (WOW we had some great groovers!)...all topped off by a fantastic fish and chip supper followed by scrumptious ice-creams.  A massive thank-you to all staff involved in ensuring a great night was had by all...a fitting farewell for a marvellous Year 6 2019 - we will miss them all soooo much as they venture off to secondary school.

Mr Barnett's Splendid Summer Fun Week...

Just a reminder that if you have signed up for the Mr Barnett's summer fun week it starts on Monday 22nd July and finishes on Friday 29th July - to confirm the club will run from 9:00am to 3:00pm daily. Please remember to provide your child/children with a packed lunch (and drinks), suitable clothing/footwear and assuming we have sunshine (which we have pre-booked!) please remember to apply sun-block. Please refer to your letter for further information with regards to the event and details on what to do if your child is bringing a friend, thank-you.

Swimming for Year 3 - September 2019

Upon return for the Autumn Term, our Year 3 children will be participating in swimming lessons at Crestwood School - swimming is a National Curriculum requirement.  Please look out for a letter which will be sent out via the children providing further details and what they will need to wear etc, thank-you.

No after-school clubs w/c 2nd September 2019...

Please look out for details on our new autumn term after-school clubs - Mr Barnett is busily working on new activities and initiatives and we will announce these clubs in the first week back to school. After-school clubs will re-commence week beginning 9th September 2019, thank-you.

United Hands - The Saleem Foundation...

The Saleem Foundation (in partnership with Lesley Care Packages) are working on an initiative known as "UNITED HANDS"; we wish to support this worthy cause for the Homeless by receiving donations of socks, underwear (in clean condition), toothbrush, toothpaste, deodrant and facial wipes (new and unused).  In addition, donations of bottles of water, breakfast bars, biscuits, crisps and chocolate bars would be fantastic. We would greatly appreciate any donations but would request that the any 'best before' dates are after the end of November, as this is a three month campaign for National Homeless Awareness Day on the 10th October. All donated items will be collected from school during the last week of September - thank-you for your ongoing support.

Ofsted and Care-Quality Commission...

Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission have today published their findings of their joint area SEND (special education needs and disabilities) inspection of services and provision that they carried out in May.
We know that every child or young person deserves the very best, but we also recognise that we do not yet deliver this on a consistent basis in Dudley. The inspectors have found a number of areas of significant weakness.  But they have also identified some areas of strong practice. However we are reassured that the inspectors have echoed our self-evaluation and understanding of areas for improvement and we fully accept their findings.
For your information please find below a link to a page set up within the council’s SEND local offer pages which contains:
  • copy of the Ofsted/CQC report,
  • parent carer briefing (joint Council and CCG)
  • stakeholder briefing (joint Council and CCG)
  • which outlines our response and next steps.
