Year 6 Enterprise

Following a very successful Pioneer visit, our intrepid Year 6's embarked on their annual enterprise venture. They decided what would be done, secured a loan for purchasing supplies and then cooked, crafted and made all their items which were sold after school on Monday.

They made an amazing profit of £140! half of which was donated to 'Classroom in the Clouds' as requested by the children themselves. Well done Year 6 - what a fabulous achievement!

Farewell Year 6

Our outgoing Year 6 performed an emotion charged leavers' assembly today. Well done to everyone - you all did so well! We would like to wish all of our Year 6 pupils all the luck in the world for their future endeavours, even though they don't need luck, we are sure they will all fly! 'Yes' some of them got a little upset this morning but please remember that they are all ready for the next exciting phase of their lives. Go get 'em Year 6!!

Sad Farewells also to.....

Miss Urwin who, we are pleased to report, is feeling much better following her recent surgery and will be moving back home to Reading during the holiday to start her new post in September. Miss Urwin has been an asset during her time at Crestwood Park and will be sadly missed.

Mrs Williams and Ms Price who have both been teaching in Year 5 leave us at the end of their fixed term contracts. Both have done a wonderful job 'filling in' and we would like to thank them very much for their hard work and commitment.

One of our Year 4 Teaching Assistants also comes to the end of her fixed term contract and Mrs Williams will be moving on to pastures new from September, again our thanks go to Mrs Williams for her hard work during the time she has been here.

Finally, our School Secretary, Mrs Orme has decided to retire after over 15 years here at Crestwood Park and quite a few years before that at various schools around the Borough. Good luck is wished from us all for happiness in whatever she now decides to do. She wishes to pass on her huge thanks for all your many generous gifts. Also your contributions plus those of staff and governors, bought her a years joint membership for the National Trust, High Tea for Two at Halfpennygreen Vineyards, a lovely glass vase engraved with the Crestwood Park logo, a beautiful bouquet, two huge pots for her garden planted with lovely patio roses, and the biggest bag of malteser based chocolates you can think of! Thank you all so very much.

Then we welcome.....

Mrs Cadman and Miss Guest take on roles of class teachers in Year 4 and Year 5 respectively. Both are excellent practitioners who we are sure will be assets to our school. They have been into school this week so the children who will be in their classes already know their faces. Please join us in making them welcome in September and wishing them all the very best as they join the family that is Crestwood Park!

School Begins in September on

Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th September 2018 are INSET training days so children return to school on Wednesday 5th. Please remember that children can enter classrooms from 8:45am and the bell rings for the start of the school day at 8:55am when all children should already be in their classroom - don't be late!

After School Clubs in the new academic year

As usual there will be no after school clubs during the first week (or two) of term. Letters will be winging their way home as soon as the club diary has been agreed telling you what will be on offer for the first half of the Autumn Term so keep a look out and send your forms back as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.

Happy Holidays!!

Just to wish each and every member of the Crestwood Park family a safe and happy holiday. We hope the weather is kind and that everyone has time to relax and enjoy the time away from school. Thank you for all the support this year. Also all the staff would like to say a huge THANK YOU for their gifts. Your generosity, as always, is really appreciated.
