Fun Run!

Just to let you know... the final total for the donation to Muscular Dystrophy UK is an amazing £440! We want to say a huge THANKYOU to Parent Voice for organising such a successful event and to all the children who gave up their time and energy to support such a worthy cause.

Break Time Food

From next Monday, 21st May new rules around the food eaten at breaktime will be put into practice. This follows many parental concerns about children not eating their lunch as tummies are still full from break.

Therefore:

KS1 children will be allowed to buy ONE item, either toast or milkshake but not both, they need just 25p.

KS2 children will be allowed to buy TWO items i.e. toast and milkshake or two slices of toast, which will cost just 50p.

There is also free fruit available each day.

Can we also remind parents that snack brought from home should be fruit only which has been the guidance for some time now. We have noticed though that some children are again bringing cake, crisps, and high fat snacks .

We are considering a trial period where morning break will be from 10:30 til 10:45am and more information will be forwarded shortly

Look out for the leaflet sent home with children on Friday giving the same information.

Monday Night Choir Club

Miss Johnson has asked us to let you know that due to unforeseen circumstances choir has been cancelled on Monday 21st May. It will resume as normal on Monday 11th June. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Parking

Have you noticed the new additions to our Crestwood Park family? Ben and Lucy stand on the roadside each day to remind drivers where not to park and to slow down if possible. We are finding that our staggered start to the day has really helped with our parking problems as parents 'come and go' over a 15 minute period.

Afternoon pick up though is a different story. We are getting many complaints from our neighbours about inconsiderate parking and one man could not leave for work as his drive was blocked by a parent collecting from our school. Police have been informed of all incidents and will be closing monitoring parking. Please consider our neighbours when parking your car.

Facebook Scam Warning

Dudley police have become aware of a possible FAKE Facebook account where by the user initiates contact and starts a conversation. The user asks the recipient where they live. Once the recipient answers, the user then makes derogatory remarks about ethnic minorities in that area. These remarks sometimes lures the recipient into making racist comments which the user then copies and uploads onto other sites for the world to see.

They have asked if we can make our children aware of this potential criminal activity and advise them not to get involved.
