Break Time Snacks
Some time ago our school governors adopted a 'Healthy Break Time' initiative. This was with the intention of encouraging our children to eat more healthy snacks. With this in mind, can we ask that, if you choose to send a snack in for break time, it is only fruit. Toast is always available to buy at 25p per slice should they wish to have that instead. We also offer fruit across both Key Stages which the children are welcome to eat.
Future Open Mornings Lunches
We have decided that the adult lunches on Open Mornings will no longer be offered. This was seen as a lovely opportunity to sample our delicious menu as well as sit with your child at this time. However, it is proving too difficult to manage and cater for, so unfortunately will not be offered for any future Open Mornings after this half term.
Christmas Switch on Events
Christmas is starting to creep upon us, many of our towns in the Dudley Borough will be holding events to switch on the Christmas Lights in the next couple of weeks. Below is the information about events that we know about so far:
Saturday 18th November - Halesowen
Saturday 25th November - Stourbridge
Saturday 2nd December - Dudley
Saturday 9th December - Brierley Hill
All the information about these events can be obtained by visiting this website: http://www.dudley.gov.uk.see-and-do/events/christmas-events-2017/
Introducing WOW - the year-round walk to school challenge
Crestwood Park is encouraging all families to swap the school run for a school walk, helping children to feel happier and healthier and reducing congestion at the school gates
For the 17/18 academic year we are taking part in WOW - the year-round walk to school challenge, from Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking. WOW rewards children who walk to school at least once a week with a collectible badge each month.
There are 9 badges to collect across the rest of the year and daily journeys are logged by pupils on the interactive Travel Tracker accessed through the school's computer or whiteboard in the classroom. If your family already cycles or scoots to school, these will also count towards earning a WOW badge.
What if we can't walk to school?
If you live too far away or don't have time to walk the whole way to school, you can Park and Stride to earn your WOW badge. Park or hop off public transport at least ten minutes away from the school and walk the rest of the way.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs Stowe or visit: www.livingstreets.org.uk/walktoschool.
Craft Fair at The Wordsley School
In case you have some spare time over this weekend, perhaps you would like to visit the Craft Fair being held at The Wordsley School Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th 10am - 3pm. Students from Learning4Life will be selling items made from the skills they have learnt on their courses. Refreshments will be available.
