HAPPY FRIDAY CHILDREN!!!! (and adults helping!)
I'd like to start today by saying THANKYOU! Thank you for working so hard from home and for completing the activities provided. It takes a long time to set up these activities and the page for you and seeing your fantastic work makes it worth while! I hope you have learnt something new this week, from how to use apostrophes, dividing numbers, a new times table, tessellating patterns to religious festivals, what super heroes might eat or how we can support ourselves and others when we get emotional.. what ever it was, remember you are doing great and we miss you very much.
To all your parents, thank you so much for taking the time to send the work over to me so I can share in the children's successes. I hope you all have a well deserved break and a fantastic weekend. Keep smiling everyone.
Best wishes

English activity and spelling practise.
To end the week, I have given you your next lot of spellings and an activity linked to my favourite artists named 'Banksy' - I like Banksy because nobody knows his or her true identity (I think it's becuase the artist uses graffiti which is often frowned upon!)
This is one of his most iconic pieces of art; a little girl with a red balloon! You may have seen it around, as it is used alot for cups, place mats, pictures for your houses etc etc
The activity you have for the end of the week uses different aspects of English. You have a story starter activity where you can write the story of the little girl. There is also a fronted adverbial activity, sentences (sick sentences) which need improving, questions about the image and even an art activity way down at the bottom which allows you to create your own piece of graffti for our school... How creative can you be? As always, work can be completed on paper and sent to me with pictures - you don't have to print off and work on the sheet provided.
Maths
Continue practising your times tables using TTRS as a resource. Today I have set some simple word problems which involve division. This gives examples of why division might be useful and why we teach it in the curriuclum. Try to use short division (the 'bus stop' methos) and your knowlegde of times tables to help you. If you are not sure, then go back to earlier in the week and look at the examples again of how to solve division questions.
The answers are on the resource, I'm trusting you not to cheat so I'd like to see your working out on paper if possible. These can be sent to my email address via a picture or scanned document. Alternatively, save them for when you come back to school and show me your working out then.
How can we manage our feelings?
On Fridays, we often have lesons focusing on how to better ourselves. Our new unit is titled
"How can we manage our feelings?"
I've attached a sheet below which has a list of feelings and some actions that people may use to help manage their feelings. For example, think about what strategies you use if you're feeling upset, angry or even how you show your feelings of excitement and happiness.
Have a look at the 'I feel...' emotions and reflect on which 'I can...' strategies you might use for different emotions. You might even want to design your own poster specific to you which shows what strategies you use when you feel different emotions. We all have our own ways of dealing with things, hopefully some of these strategies may help you as you grow older.
