Crestwood Park Primary School

Last Friday was 'World Ocean Day' and we celebrated this event with the kitchen trying to be as free from single use plastics as possible. The dining hall looked fabulous with all sort of fishy decoration! Thank you to our wonderful kitchen staff, who do such an amazing job catering for our children. From now on we would like to make every Friday as 'plastic free' as possible. If your child likes their packed lunch, a 'grab bag' can be ordered from the kitchen instead of a hot dinner, with their choice of sandwich, as we know that a packed lunch free from single use plastic is challenging. It would be great if, from now on, we can make 'Plastic Free Friday' a weekly event.

SCHOOL NURSE DROP-IN; our school nurse will be in school on Thursday 20th June between 9am - 11am should you wish to discuss anything regarding your child's health. No appointments necessary.

Mr Barnett wishes to say "A big thank-you to all the parents and children who have taken part in this weeks after-school clubs, hopefully the weather will brighten up so as we can participate in a game of rounders and athletics outside real soon".

Just a little reminder that if you have any suitable photo-booth props that you would be willing to donate for our Summer Fun week (week beginning 24th June), could you please hand them in to class, thank-you.

Letters have been issued this week with details of Sports Day which is being held at The Dell Stadium on Tuesday 18th June.  Children will be back in school in time for lunch at 12:15pm.  Can we remind children that they need to wear their relevant 'house colour' t-shirts, thank-you. Please refer to the letter for further details. We hope you can join us for what promises to be a memorable event.

Please look out for the letters sent out this week with further details about our annual "Great Get Together" Picnic.  Families can come and set up their picnics at 2:50pm and at 3:00pm the whole school will perform a song together - please note there will be NO assembly).  Please do let us know if you will be attending by returning the slip at the bottom of the letter, thank-you...lets hope for lots of sunshine - or at least no rain!

Our Crestwood cups will now be finding their way home with your children. Inside the cup will be a letter explaining what to do with the cup; these will be raffled off at our "Great Get Together" Picnic afternoon. Any bottle donations for the bottle tombola would be greatly appreciated.

As we have our "Great Get Together" Picnic on Friday 21st June from 3pm, there will be NO Family Assembly on that day.

We hope all our Crestwood Dad's have a super Father's Day - we would like to thank those who attended the card making session - we have some right budding little artists in school and think the parents enjoyed it as much as the children!

We will be holding a Maths workshop on Monday 1st July from 2:45 - 3:15pm in the classrooms; this workshop is open to all Year Groups and parents/carers and we will be focusing on PLACE VALUE.  We hope you can join us.
