Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Weekly Newsletter!

We finished the week with a super class assembly from Year 3- the audience were treated to a visit from a polar bear, a penguin, a zoo keeper and lots of scientists and explorers! It's lovely to see family and friends in assemblies again- don't forget all assemblies are open to all parents but please don't come in if you are unwell!

We were planning to have Science Day on Monday but this is now Friday 18th as the scientist is poorly! The disco is on Thursday and the following week finishes with our Mothers' Day Assembly. More details are shared further down the newsletter but please be aware that in order to comply with fire regulations, we have to strictly limit Mothers' day 'tickets' to one per family.

We are always seeking the views of parents- thankyou for the completing the surveys recently. We have another one for you to do please- this time it is preparation for the re-assessment of Our Wellbeing Award for Schools- please see below for more details.

As always, if you have any questions about events coming up, just ask.

You will find tokens in the Express and Star paper every day from now until the beginning of April - so get collecting!

The more tokens we can collect the more chance we have of winning a share of a massive £12,000!

A message from the Pastoral Team...

Hello everyone,

Spring is in the air and it's a great time to begin exploring the outdoors. Enjoying nature and taking in fresh air is so good for everyone's wellbeing, with this in mind we thought we would share with you a few ideas. We hope you are all well and enjoy a lovely weekend.

Look forward to seeing you back in school on Monday

The Pastoral Team xx

Wellbeing Award for Schools

Many of you will remember that in 2018, the school was recognised for its work on mental health and wellbeing. The award was the result of collecting the views of staff, parents and pupils, sharing news of the things that were working well and improving any areas that needed further attention. In July, we will be re-assessed for this award and in preparation for that, we would like to gather your views.

Please complete this short survey in as much detail as possible- the surveys are anonymous so please be honest! We know that the most effective way to provide the best educational experience for our children is by working closely with parents and carers.

Thankyou-we really appreciate your input and support.

'Parents' Gardening Group

We are looking for a group of volunteers to help us with some gardening projects around school, particularly the Reception outside area. We are blessed with an amazing space for our youngest learners, but maintaining it is proving tricky!

If you are a parent, carer, grandparent, aunt, uncle or other relation and are willing to give up an afternoon of your time, we would love to hear from you. The first session will be on Thursday 24th at 1pm.

We're not looking for gardening experts, just willing volunteers!

If you are interested, please email Ms Bullas abullas@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk or let the office know.

Thankyou!

Some helpful offers/deals

And finally,

Thankyou for the amazing response to our appeal for donations to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine. We have been over-whelmed with the generosity of our families- however this is not unexpected....you always astound us with your willingness to give to others in need and once again, you have exceeded our expectations.

Mrs Brierley and the SPARKS Ambassadors will be dropping donations off a week today, so there's still plenty of time if you'd like to donate but haven't managed to. Also, some of our SPARKS Ambassadors will be taking a trip to Aldi, to purchase more essentials so if you'd rather donate cash, we can turn that into donations for you.

Take care of each other folks.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children our safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
