Crestwood Bake off
Grateful thanks to all who made cakes/buns/biscuits for our Crestwood Bake Off on Friday 20th October. Many congratulations to our winners however, all entries looked wonderfully tasty! The Mayor and Mayoress, and his ambassadors were als very impressed with the quality (and taste) of the entries.
The sale of cakes raised an astonishing £155.98 which will pay for the education of our Dalit child, Shaikh for another year. This may seem like a small amount to us, but we should remember that one hundred and fifty pounds is a vast amount for someone who has so very little in life. On behalf of Shaikh, thank you all so much for the opportunities your generosity is providing.
Disco!
You have no doubt received the recent letter inviting all children to book a place at the Parent Voice Disco being held next Monday, 6th November. Places need to be booked in advance as payment cannot be accepted on admission so Monday morning is the last opportunity to send back your request forms.
Get those forms back - get out your glad rags and dust off your dancing shoes - it's time to PARTY!!!
Roofing Work
Work starts next Monday - 6th November to our school roof. The is the second part of a project to replace and insulate the whole of our school roof. Half of this was completed a few years ago and the sections that were brand new at the time now need upgrading. There will be scaffolding around the building as well as workmen on the roof. Please bear with us while this work is being done as disruptions are bound to happen when large scale works are carried out. Should you have any questions or queries please pop to the school office, similarly in the event of any complaint about the work or workers - please inform either Mrs Stowe or Mrs Orme who will sort it out on your behalf. Thank you in advance for your patience and continued support.
Reception Library Sessions and Play 'n' Learn
There will be no more Library Sessions or Play 'n' Learn Sessions in Reception Class for the rest of this half term. The children will be practising for their Christmas Production at 2:30pm each day this half term. You can imagine how long it takes to put together a Key Stage One Production but hard work and perseverance pay off each year as parents thoroughly enjoy the spectacle that is Key Stage One Nativity. This year will be no different but until the production happens it's just practise, practise and more practise!
No Running Club until the new year
Please note that it has been necessary to cancel Running Club during this half term. Weather permitting, it will resume in January but please watch this space for information nearer the time. All children who have supported this club have been given a letter from Mrs Kennedy regarding this so if your child runs please check pockets and bags.
No more old £1 coins accepted
As you are probably aware the old £1 coins are ceased to be legal tender on 15th October. We can no longer accept old £1 coins and if any are received we will have no alternative but to return them to you. Please ensure that if you are making cash payments to school, that includes coins, only new £1 coins are sent.
Plea for old Shirts
If you have any old shirts which you are throwing out or just outgrown can we ask that you send them into school please. Condition is not important as these are just used to protect uniform during art/painting sessions
