Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Weekly Newsletter!

We've finished off this very short week with Year One's super assembly, teaching us all about Christopher Columbus and Neil Armstrong. They had learnt lots of facts about these explorers and really lifted our spirits with their 'Reach for the Stars' singing!

Next week is an important one for our Year Sixes as they take their SATs. They've worked very hard for these and we have every faith that they will all do their very best- we are sure you will all want to join us in wishing them the very best of luck!

Next week ends with our annual Wellbeing Day. Children across the school will be taking part in a range of activities to support their emotional wellbeing and mental health; due to the range of activities taking place, we won't be having an assembly on this day. Children can come to school in their own clothes and trainers for this day- something comfortable and suitable for indoors and outdoors.

Happy Birthday to you!

We would like to say a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to... Dylan, Logan, Evan, Lewis and Hassan who have celebrated their birthday this week.

Fitness Friday with Mr Barnett

Don't forget that Mr Barnett holds a fitness session on Friday mornings, just after children are dropped off. We have a really good range of equipment for parents and family friends to use and is a lovely way to have a catch-up with other parents, whilst burning a few calories at the same time! No need to book, just turn up!

A message from the Pastoral Team

We hope you enjoyed the long bank holiday weekend, let's hope we're going to get some sunshine soon.

This week we thought we would give you a few websites to have a look at to support relaxation. We know that some of your children will be preparing themselves for SAT's and assessments. This can be a challenging time for everyone. Take a look at the websites and maybe you could do some of the activities alongside your children.

We hope you have a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
Take care of each other, love The Pastoral Team xx

Reading Books!

As you may remember, in Key Stage Two we are moving over to a different system for allocating reading books to children. This is called Accelerated Reader and is linked to the MyON resources that children children can access from home. The Accelerated Reader system involves children being 'assessed' with an online test and this helps to establish an accurate reading level. All our books in Key Stage Two are now banded in different colours and depending on your child's reading 'level' they will be able to choose books from the matching colour band.

As not all children have been assessed and will not have had their books allocated, most children in KS2 will not have a reading book to bring home, for the next few days. Please don't worry about this- they can continue to read anything at home or from the library if you are able to visit.

Children will be re-issued books as soon as possible- any questions, please ask.

Mr Powell's TT Rock Stars!

Very well done to Harry in Year 4 for achieving an enormous 1629 correct answers this week! Amazing times tables Harry...we look forward to presenting you with your medal in our next assembly!

Looking after our Community

And finally,

Have a good weekend all. Look after each other and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday morning.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children our safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
